Allvia - 1% Retinol Cream - Exfoliating and Rejuvenating, Clinical Strength, Paraben Free - 1.7 Ounces

I ran out of my prescription Retin-A and bought this to tide me over until I see the dermatologist again. This stuff is just as strong as my Rx cream and costs 80% less (even less if you include you don't have to pay your doctor). If you have sensitive skin, start slowly. I've built up a tolerance for retinols, but when I apply this at night and add a layer of eye/facial moisturizer, my face feels like I have a horrible sunburn for about ten minutes. I consider this a good (if painful) thing. In the morning, before I wash my face, I can see SO much dead skin, which means it's working. Remember you're playing the long game; it will take months before you see real results for wrinkles, but my skin was definitely brighter at six weeks.

I've used 1% retinol creams before and get a signature tingle while my skin adjusts to the retinol. This one does nothing. My skin is moisturized, but not noticing any further reduction in fine lines, no exfoliation. No redness, but again, no positive change in my skin either. Returning and going back to my drugstore brand.

Good product. Very drying around the nose. Very little product needs to be used. Should last well.

Great product for aging skin...works for a gentle peel a couple times per week. Staff at work noticed that my skin was looking so young (and I had not told them about my using a peel product).
