Great little camera. Clever use of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to talk with your phone and upload drives and key moments to your phone and the cloud. However, this can use your battery power and if you don’t charge your phone as you drive, this might be an issue. My only other issue is that sometimes drives don’t appear on your phone. They’re all saved on the Micro SD card, so it’s not a major problem. Overall though, it’s neat and discreet, which is what I was after.

I looked at a lot of reviews before buying this and a lot are negative to say the least. But I have had not problems with connectivity between camera and iPhone. The app is clear and easy to use. The video and sound quality are very good. I like the fact there is not screen on the camera less distracting.

My Review of the Nexar Beam dash cam (Iphone 13 pro max, IOS 16)Initial Impressions:* The box was not sealed, with either a sticker, tape or cellophane.* The Contents of the box appeared undisturbed, packed neatly and with all promised accessories.* Disappointed to see a Mini USB for power.* All protective plastic was in place on the mount and camera lens.* Amazon SKU label indicated 'new 2021' rather than '2022', the model date promised on the listing.*The actual camera, mount (integrated GPS) looks well thought out and nicely put together.Fitting in Car:* Routing the power cable can be a little awkward, however clear instructions, cable clips and a trim tool to help are included (11.5ft USB Mini cable).* Nice twist lock window mount that works well, using the GPS module as the part that turns to lock the mount.* The camera and mount while quite square and boxy are low profile and can be concealed well behind my rearview mirror (I am still able to see the LED indicator lamps).* Be sure to mount the camera so that it looks through via an area swept by your windscreen wipers ( I had to move mine).Pairing the camera to the Phone / App:* The pairing process was OK, but far from confident. While paring was happening as the instructions said, it took longer than I would have liked to find the camera and pair successfully (I was getting twitchy that it was not going the find the camera).* The LED lights give a clear indication of when the camera is connecting to the app and connected to the app.* The camera has been connecting to the app as expected.Features that appealed to me and why I chose this camera (not the only or all camera features):* Auto cloud upload of an incident without limit or extra cost (at the moment policies often change over time).* Integrated GPS.*Dash camera of the year 2022 as voted by 'expert reviews'.* Priced competitively.* Not too expensive to leave in car.Using the Camera:* This is where previous reviews concerned me. Some said that you had to have the Nexar app open with the camera view streaming, for the recordings to be available in the IOS App. I have not found this to be the case. Reviews have also mentioned a delay in the start of recording when using the auto-start feature Via Bluetooth, I have noticed this however you can confirm the connection status from the LED lights on the camera. The reliability of the auto connection is also a concern for me, I believe it has missed at least one trip I was expecting to be recorded. Time will tell if this camera is reliable long-term.It is too early to say if I would recommend this Nexar Beam dash camera, that said I will be keeping it and will resort to manual starting of drive if it comes to that.Hopefully, this has helped you decide if it's the dash camera for you, you will only really know if you try it for yourself.Update:* Nexar will stream to the app without the app being open (have to agree to the permissions)* Even once the blue Wi-Fi light is solid there is still a delay starting the recording (the streamed version to the phone anyway)* The Bluetooth auto start is not 100 % it has missed another drive (streamed to phone)Not feeling what you would call solid and reliable, for me anyway.

Camera came in a pristine box, well packages with all instructions for installation clearly labelled and easy to follow.Unfortunately the camera's footage viewer is App based and although the camera came with a 256GB SD card, the footage is saved to an unlimited Cloud storage only accessible via the Nexar App. When it came to installation and pairing the camera to my phone it kept failing, saying the App was unable to pair to the device. I kept trying for nearly an hour to no avail so I am now in the process of returning the device 😟

In an ideal world nobody would need one of these but we don’t live in an ideal world and this is perfect for making sure everyone tells the truth if you get into a collision. Dead easy to set up, simple to use and worth every Penny 😊

I bought this for install on a 2020 BMW 5 Series, I was impressed with the marketing and reviews I’d read online for this dash cam.The setup and app are both slick, the video quality is outstanding - far better than any other dash cam I’ve used both day and night mode.However, I returned this after a few days of use because:1 - You cannot use this device if you use Wireless Apple Car PlayThis is because the Nexar uses wifi to connect to your device to stream your trip and wireless car play uses wifi to connect your device to your car. Because you can’t have multiple WiFi connections you have to choose between one or the other.This is actually buried deep in Nexar’s FAQ’s and they don’t mention it when talking about it’s compatibility with your cars infotainment system.2 - Most trips are part recorded or missing from the app.If your phone is connected to your home WiFi and is still in range while parked on your drive, most of the time the app doesn’t connect to the camera until a good few minutes into your trip. I can’t view the footage from most short journeys in the app and huge chunks of footage on longer journeys are often missing.3 - The app drains your phone battery considerablyIn my opinion the impact this dash cam has on phone battery consumption is really under sold. I’ve got an iPhone 13 and with the app in power saving mode it consumed 30% of my battery in 58 minutes. Nexar suggest plugging your device in while using the camera.In summary - this has the potential to be a great product but is compromised by these three big issues. Consider if you can live with it before buying!

Devuelvo el articulo porque me interesaba tener un almacenamiento en la nube como se anuncia en la descripción, sin embargo, el artículo es de excelente calidad, pero el acceso a la app Nexar es imposible ya que no hay cobertura en México para el almacenamiento en línea de los videos que va grabando el dispositivo, solo se grabarán las imágenes y video de manera local.El código SMS que se requiere para acceder a la aplicación no es generado, el servicio al cliente es súper rápido, contestan en inglés, pero solo confirmaron que México no tiene la disponibilidad de almacenamiento online, este era para mí la justificación de la compra y lo que marcaba la diferencia con otras cámaras disponibles en el mercado.

Very great dash cam for a very great price. The Nexar Beam is very easy to install and I have had no problems with it just make sure that you go to the official site and see if it works with your phone.Only one downside that I found is that the app is looks a bit different from the add but still is great quality and servers its purpose.

Edit: for some reason Nexar trims videos and I can’t view full videos, only partial. It’s very frustrating.This is my second Nexar dash cam, so I have a bit of experience with this brand.Pros: This camera brand is extremely user friendly, and easy to set up in less than 5 minutes. I enjoy that all the recordings go to the free app, instead of just a memory card. The image quality is crystal clear as well.Cons: the life span of my first Nexar camera was a little over one year. So be prepared that you may need to replace the camera eventually. I will edit my review in one year if this new camera holds up.

Pros: The video quality is really good. The Nexar app is very user friendly and records all the trips automatically once you sync your phone with the dash cam. You also have an option to select memory space on your phone to store the videos. This buy is spectacular value for money. GPS an added bonus in case your car lacks Apple CarPlay or Anroid Auto.Cons: Not sure how useful is the parking feature since it records the car front once collision or disturbance is identified.Overall an amazing product ,Cheers
