An Impossible Promise

Trying To milk sales by extending what should be 1 book into 3......
Jude Deveraux has been one of my favorite authors but this book series beginning with Chance of A Lifetimewas strange to say the least. The first book simply ends, doesn't conclude, just ends. So, I purchased the second book thinking that surely THAT book would provide the conclusion and it.... just ends... and again doesn't conclude. There is no notation that this is a three part ( or 4 or 5 part) book and frankly, the story could have easily concluded in one book. This leads me to believe that the authors intended to make sure readers had to buy at least three books to see the conclusion at $16.99 a pop. If this is what a Jude Deveraux- Tara Sheets co writing is like, no thanks to any future publications. It wasn't that good that I have to keep buying. Don't do it.

Time travel
The premise of the story is intriguing, but it drags, probably because each installment is 9 to 12 months later. Jude needs to bring us some more of her wonderful stand alones...or trilogies she writes herself. Not sure the mysteries are her forte.

Just okay
Jude is my favorite author, but this story is lacking her usual flair. It took about 12 chapters to even get interesting and was just an okay read. Slightly disappointed.
