I have an old heavy 72in by 48in school room blackboard. It has a built-in rail along three of the four edges on the back that look like they would fit with some sort of French cleat. I did a lot of research but couldn't find any information on the proper way to mount an old chalkboard, so I purchased these with hope that they would be the right thing. I bought 1 pair of both 18in and 4in; 18in for the top and 4in for the sides (to keep the chalkboard from easily sliding). These worked wonderfully! We had no issues with the holes lining up with the studs in our old lath and plaster house and the cleats fit in the built-in rails almost perfect. I've had the chalkboard up for a little over a month now and it still feel very sturdy, very stable, and very secure. This project was a big concern of mine as I have a young child who is about to be on the move more independently, so having furniture properly secured is really important. Very very pleased with this purchase.

Though small, they can handle the weight of a heavy piece of art. I used for 2 wood peices I made that were 3’ x 5’ each, hang much easier with the cleat. Fits right into place. Very happy with the product because the cleats are small enough, you do not see them with the hanging art peices.

We recently bought a bed with an adjustable frame. The criminals wanted $60 for the bracket kit to mount a headboard. In looking at the kit, I realized that the headboard would flex the brackets and it (the headboard) would bump against the wall. The easiest fix was to mount the headboard to the wall. Enter the french cleat mounts. Sure, I could have made one out of wood, but that would have had the headboard away from the wall at a weird angle.... so. I bought these. They are of nice quality, worked great, and the headboard is secure and doesn't make bumping noises in the night.

French cleats are a great way to go and these work great. I'm deducting one star in case the "included hardware" is important to you. Don't expect to get what it says in the description. I ordered the 2-pack of 18" cleats, and it claimed "We provide 2 pairs 18 inch headboard mounting brackets; 16 x 1’’ self-tapping screws; 16 x 1/2’’ self-tapping screws and 16 x expansion rubber plugs." I got the mounting brackets, of course. Plus16 Drywall anchors (for some reason not mentioned in the description, but are clearly shown in all the pictures); I did get 16 x 1" wood screws. They are NOT self tapping, but it is unlikely that you need them to be unless you have metal frames. They are not quite 1", maybe 15/16". I also got 16 shorter wood screws (again, NOT self-tapping) but they are nowhere near 1/2", maybe 5/16". They are very short and you would be insane to use them. The drywall anchor is longer then the '1" screw' provided (see my photo), unlike the all of the pictures shown. Additionally, I only got 6 expansion rubber plugs, not 16. I honestly don't even know what they are for. In the end none of it really mattered. Like most people I have plenty of longer wood screws, didn't need self-tapping, and didn't need the rubber plugs. I didn't even need the drywall anchors. But if all that is important to you, beware, what you get seems pretty random.

I wanted to install wooden wine boxes on my wall with the freedom to place specifically where I wanted them (not constrained by stud placement). These were in very easy to install, sit snugly, but can be slid slightly left or right if needed. They are very strong and can hold the weigjt of books and plants without even nearing their weight limit. So glad I gound these, and for a good price too!

Recently made an art piece that weighs a good 10-15 pounds so I decided I wanted something more sturdy than wire or a command strip to hang it. I used epoxy resin glue to affix one side to my art, and the only problem with that is to be careful to ensure the glue does not drip into the slot that is used for hanging. Fits very flush with the wall, and can be removed off and on with ease.

Nicely made. Worked well. The only complaint are that the screws that come with it are small. I used larger ones
