I have an old heavy 72in by 48in school room blackboard. It has a built-in rail along three of the four edges on the back that look like they would fit with some sort of French cleat. I did a lot of research but couldn't find any information on the proper way to mount an old chalkboard, so I purchased these with hope that they would be the right thing. I bought 1 pair of both 18in and 4in; 18in for the top and 4in for the sides (to keep the chalkboard from easily sliding). These worked wonderfully! We had no issues with the holes lining up with the studs in our old lath and plaster house and the cleats fit in the built-in rails almost perfect. I've had the chalkboard up for a little over a month now and it still feel very sturdy, very stable, and very secure. This project was a big concern of mine as I have a young child who is about to be on the move more independently, so having furniture properly secured is really important. Very very pleased with this purchase.

Though small, they can handle the weight of a heavy piece of art. I used for 2 wood peices I made that were 3’ x 5’ each, hang much easier with the cleat. Fits right into place. Very happy with the product because the cleats are small enough, you do not see them with the hanging art peices.

I tried German cleats and English cleats, but they just don't work as well. French cleats are the way to go. These worked great to mount a solid wood headboard to the wall. I'm confident that the headboard won't fall off the wall and kill me in my sleep. low profile, very strong.

French cleats are a great way to go and these work great. I'm deducting one star in case the "included hardware" is important to you. Don't expect to get what it says in the description. I ordered the 2-pack of 18" cleats, and it claimed "We provide 2 pairs 18 inch headboard mounting brackets; 16 x 1’’ self-tapping screws; 16 x 1/2’’ self-tapping screws and 16 x expansion rubber plugs." I got the mounting brackets, of course. Plus16 Drywall anchors (for some reason not mentioned in the description, but are clearly shown in all the pictures); I did get 16 x 1" wood screws. They are NOT self tapping, but it is unlikely that you need them to be unless you have metal frames. They are not quite 1", maybe 15/16". I also got 16 shorter wood screws (again, NOT self-tapping) but they are nowhere near 1/2", maybe 5/16". They are very short and you would be insane to use them. The drywall anchor is longer then the '1" screw' provided (see my photo), unlike the all of the pictures shown. Additionally, I only got 6 expansion rubber plugs, not 16. I honestly don't even know what they are for. In the end none of it really mattered. Like most people I have plenty of longer wood screws, didn't need self-tapping, and didn't need the rubber plugs. I didn't even need the drywall anchors. But if all that is important to you, beware, what you get seems pretty random.

I had a large 5’ wide mirror to hang over a fireplace. It was a perfect length to be able to secure to 2 wall studs as well as the other drywall anchors. Very sturdy. I did use a few longer and stronger screws in some key areas but other that that instillation went just fine and I am confident in it’s performance.

I dig these, measurements do not have to be super exact because of the length and the float off the wall is a cool effect

First time using these. Made a headboard and wanted to hang it on wall. Worked very well

Nicely made. Worked well. The only complaint are that the screws that come with it are small. I used larger ones

the stained glass 600mmx800mm with the heavy frame now seats on the wall. also I like the small gap between the frame and the wall. ordered 30" and cut off for my specific dimensions
