This was an impulse buy for me. I have used it a couple of times already (got it about 3 weeks ago) and it has done well. Once I dropped a screwdriver into the bilge area under the motor of my pontoon boat during maintenance. I reached down and couldn't grab it. Then I remembered my grappling hook. Got it on the first try! This will really pick up a quarter! It looks cool hanging in my garage, too. I use the magnet hook on my toolbox to store it. That magnet is STRONG! Only thing is, if you have the magnet on a string or rope to retrieve something, you better not have anything magnetic near it on the way down or it will grab that.

So whatever reason you buy this for, it's fun to play with. I've never had to use it for anything that requires a grappling hook, but it does have one very practical use. It can pick up a quarter off the ground. That amazes just about anyone, but especially kids. Need to keep a kid busy for a 20-30 minutes? Toss a handful of change on the ground and challenge them to pick it up using the grappling hook.

This is such an awesome product haven’t used it much as I got it for our camper and for camping but it’s cracked open a few bottles with ease can’t wait to use it more!
