Could be better
Good canvases. Much better at the earlier price. Not so good now. These canvases were $35 10/19, $37 12/19, and now $59 COVID/19. Price gouging much???

Board warps, good packaging, rough surface
I really wanted to love these. I am new to oil painting and getting into the habit of painting everyday. I thought, great, these will fit the bill. The price was right, the reviews were good and delivery would really be two days with a prime account (must say the two days doesn't work 1/2 the time). Anyways, I was good to go... they arrived, packed well no issues. The canvas bundle is wrapped in plastic and each individual panel is wrapped. Again, I thought great, good to go. Then I started painting. Granted, I am still a novice artist. Half the time I paint, I say to myself I have no idea what I am doing. So this could be just me... and other artist out there may find these the best ever. However, I just haven't fallen in love with these panels. The biggest complaint is the bend. I have stained half and painted a few and they curve. It's awkward painting with them. At first, I had one just resting on a board easel, so I thought perhaps it needs to lay flat. No such luck. Okay so they bend and curve. I guess it's okay. Perhaps all canvas boards will do this, though the smaller ones I got (different brand) aren't doing that. My next issue is the coating. It feels like I am painting on sandpaper. I am used to getting canvas's from Michaels, the price for daily painting is driving me towards a cheaper option. I am sure it's just me, but can't say I like the feel of these beneath my brush. In time, I will get used to it. I won't be returning or not use them. Just don't think I will be buying these ones again.

Need more gesso, but overall good product
I have bought these twice now. As far as canvas panels go, they are good quality. They all come individually wrapped, so you don't have to worry about any of them getting messed up if you're not using the whole set all at once, and I've never had any of them come bent or bowed like I have with other companies. My only issue would be that they say they are triple primed with acrylic gesso, but I still found them to be quite rough and had to prime them with another 3-4 coats. Other than that, I like the weight, loved the price and shipping time, and find them to be a quality product that I will continue to use as long as I need them.I did NOT receive a discount or any of these items for free--this is a completely unbiased and un-bought opinion.

Great canvases at a decent price!
I have used these in my business for the past year and they have worked great. I have gessoed a couple as I wanted to start over, but mostly I do not. I start with a watercolor background - water and acrylic paint. I have not had a problem with severe warping, water bleeding through to the cardboard or poor coverage. I use the 11x14, 16x20 and 8x10 - no problems with any of them. I do give the paintings a final finish of acrylic sealer spray, which gives a fantastic finish.

Triple gesso, my foot!
Haha...unless they were using off white gesso, these were absolutely NOT triple gessoed! It isn't that big of a deal to spread on a couple coats, of course, and for the price I guess it is still worth it. The canvases are all very flat, so that is great. But, I don't think they should advertise that they have been triple gessoed. Today, I was ready to just jump in and start practicing my acrylic painting skills, as these arrived yesterday afternoon...well, I got in some good practice spreading gesso evenly for today's studio session...

Perfect party activity
These were perfect for my daughter's birthday party. I wanted to do a mini painting project for an activity AND favor during the party. Larger canvases were too expensive for my budget. These canvases were well made and fit in the favor bags! I used tacky glue to attach a ribbon on the backside so it can hang. There was no issue with the glue not sticking, the ribbon stayed put. They were a big hit and a great activity! My only regret is that I didn't buy extra!

Really great product for studies or even finals
So if you are looking for 300 year archival product that is made from hardwood and linen, this isn't the product for you. On the other hand, the size I purchased was 11x14: small enough to take w/me to do on site paintings but sturdy enough not to get damaged. I like the 11x14 size b/c it's not too small, not too big. I don't like the backs of these canvas boards, all manufacturers seem compelled to put their brand name on the back, I wish it was just blank but all over them do it and it's not too hard to cover over w/gesso. These are acid free, I have some from years back and they haven't broken, crumbled, color shifted etc. Sounless you are selling your paintings in a high end gallery for thousands of $$ a piece, I think this product would serve 99.99% of painters well. I have used these for oil paints, acrylic and even used it as a test for mixed media as well as watercolor (treated w/an absorbent ground). All worked fine, no warping. The gesso finish is smooth, no bumps or defects. For oil paint I do put one more layer of a ground through, but I do it on all pre-gesso'd products not just this one. I very much like the cost of these canvas panels, they allow you to play or explore and not be paranoid that you are ruining a $80-$150 canvas which has to be just perfect. Like I mentioned, I have used these for mixed media/collage. I haven't tried larger sizes, so not sure how the really large ones would hold up, but for 11x14 I have put layers of paint, medium, ink, collage and it's held up perfectly well. So I have zero major complaints about the product and will be buying some more as long as the price point doesn't go crazy!
