Dream: Discovering God's Purpose for Your Life

Hidden, yet obvious.
Unlike my wife, I almost never remember a dream. Now, I see why. I have expected the dream to commence in my mind. Now, I see that His dream starts in my heart, and only when my heart is ready to receive it. I pray that I will have a heart constantly ready to hear His voice and see His dream for me.

I would recommend this book.
I am currently battling cancer. It's hard to think about the future. This book helps me to look beyond my circumstances.

You were created to dream, and doing so in partnership with God is one of His greatest gifts to us.
The book is an inspirational teaching of how dreams tie in with purpose and identity and how God, the greatest dreamer of all, is wanting to partner His dreams with ours. The invitation is to move from what God can do for me in my dreams to the eternal friendship and legacy established from dreaming WITH God our Father. The book was triggered by Dutch's own experience with God during a mountain retreat at a place he likened to Mt Moriah. In his words he reflected "climbing the ladder of success has gradually been replaced by plumbing the depths of His heart. Accomplishments are now measured more by Heaven's approval than by earths applause, and making a name has given way to making a difference."The purpose of the book is to connect the reader with the dreaming heart of God so that "you'll never be satisfied with the abnormal existence of a non dreamer or the mundane life of an earthbound one. You were created to dream, and doing so in partnership with God is one of His greatest gifts to us."Dutch illustrates his points with excellent stories and solid biblical foundation as well as personal touches from his own journey. The end of each, short, chapter has 5-6 questions to review the teaching and how it applies to your own life as a dreamer. This book is a great foundation or alignment-check to live your dream in relationship with Father God.

Beautiful walk with God's early dreamers
This book is not about interpreting dreams in the sense of assigning a particular meaning to a particular symbol. This book is heart changing and mind changing, showing how God dreamed with Jacob and his grandfather Abraham, how He dealt with their weaknesses and taught them to allow Him to dream with them, to bless all the nations through them. Beautiful.

Inspirational, Encouraging but nothing new from Dutch
First off I respect Dutch Sheets as a person and his ministry work as well. Also, I have several of his titles in my personal library and often go back to them throughout the year. This book is short, sweet and exactly what the title says. Many of the stories are inspirational, encouraging and uplifting. But if you are looking for a "new revelation" or "insight" from Dutch Sheets then don't look to this book. Again, it is not the purpose of the book. I would have rated the book higher based on the season of life I am in and the book spoke deeply to me. However, to be objective the book is a 3 star work.

Follow your dreams...
This is a good book - just a little long winded in places, but very much worth a read.
