Great trimmer
I have been using this for a number of weeks now and it works well. A neat cut and a good battery life.

Spoilt for choice? Stick to what you know.
As with almost everything these days a search for a new beard trimmer brings up hundreds of choices, so for the sake of my sanity I tend to stick to brands I've bought before. Therefore when my ten year old Phillips stubble trimmer started to show its age I concentrated my search towards a similar replacement. Even then the choice between Philips models is a bit confusing & one wonders why they produce so many variations of basically the same thing. Did I want a selection of length combs, or one adjustable one? Titanium or alloy steel blades? Lithium or NiMH battery? I just want the thing to charge up quickly & trim my beard neatly. After a bit of a false start, with an ill considered purchase of a model which claimed to take ten hours to charge, I went for this slightly more expensive version with a lithium battery. It's probably not wise to compare newer models with old, because inevitably they often prove to be made to a lesser standard for the price bracket. Not that that's really the case here, but compared to my ten year old trimmer this item seems lighter & not of equal quality finish. That said, it does do a very crisp, comfortable trim, with no scratches to the skin or random whiskers missed. It has 20 easily selected length settings & really does recharge in less than an hour. The addition of a detail head was a big plus, making trimming under the nose & around the moustache area much easier than before. It's light, but chunky enough to sit in the hand without slipping around. There's an LED to indicate when the battery is low & when charging that it is full. Whether it lasts as long as my previous trimmer remains to be seen, but so far I'm very pleased with it. Just a couple of things would have earned it an extra star overall: A simple carrying pouch would have been useful for storage, and I would have preferred a charging cable with a standard 3-pin plug rather than just the USB cable supplied. Nothing insurmountable & probably quite negligible to the USB generation.

Excellent
Only used 2 or 3 times, but this seems like an excellent trimmer - I had my last Remmington for years and was happy enough with it, although the blades did need oiling and the battery was poor in its later years. This in comparison seems streets ahead - the blades are so much sharper and the motor feels like its got ample power. Ask me again in 12 months how the battery fairs!

Worth every penny
Purchased as a temp shaver as I left my expensive old one at a friends house - this is very good for the money, better than my previous at more than twice the price.

Great trimmer
Best beard trimmers I have ever had. Light and quick to charge and very good value. The precision trimmer is extremely useful for unwanted hairs in ears and nose

Battery used in this goes dead after 2 years from purchase - don't bother
It was a major upgrade for me from previous Baylis cheapo as it was simple, handy and battery lasted way longer.Coming now to be 2 years and battery is dead, can charge it but it will barelly be able to do just one trimming job.I thought I may possibly use it being plugged in to charger - nope. For the price paid I consider this to be great product with dissapointing Philips approach of sticking in very poor quality batteries.Do I recommend it? - absolutely no.

Good but the end hair left doesn't clean up properly.
It's very good when hair is about a 2 or 3 and want to trim to stable but underneath the ear/neck area and near the throat when there is little hair left, it won't pick it up and have to go over it numerous times. Using the precision blade helps so keep that in mind otherwise worth it. Super fast charging once dead too. Still have yet to charge since charging it once when out the box since it was dead.
