The Penny Pot: An Educational Math Story About Face Painting, Friends, and Counting Coins for Kids (Ages 6-10): 2 (MathStart 3, 2) : Murphy, Stuart J., Cravath, Lynne: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: My son loves these math start books. This one is pretty good, it teaches counting out change. The only thing that I didnโt consider would be that the illustrations of the money are that of american currency. They also have pennies which is a bit outdated for our currency. My son is still enjoying the concept and the different looking money isnโt spoiling the overal lesson. This book is really well thought out and enjoyable to read. Review: This book is a great way to introduce counting money with children, especially if you take the time to pause your reading to count if the children in the story have the right amount with coins. Itโs also a really cute story about kids getting their face painted.

I ordered this to go along with my first graders math lessons on counting coins. Itโs a cute little book with a fun story line, that ties in learning along the way!

The book was great a read. I love the concept of teaching kids how to identify coins and count. I love the colors that was used to illustrate the pictures. I also like that the author referenced additional books with similar concepts to read and the glossary at the end.

My kindergarten students love this book. It shows them how to count money and how money is used. Also, saving to get what you want. This boom might be set for another level but kindergarten students understand it fine. I had a money counting activity that followed the reading
