45mm 1-3/4" Diameter Round Die Stock Handle Wrench

It fit the die perfectly. With enough bolts to hold the die in place, & the needed strength.

I read other reviews that had issue with the set screws, but the tool that I received had good threading on the set screws, and they worked well for several dies that I had. I did check that they were tight a few time throughout using the tool, but otherwise had no problems. I don't use this often enough to justify a more expensive version, but it works just fine for occasional use.

I purchased the die for this handle from the same company, here on Amazon. The die fit the handle perfectly and the handle tightened up and securely held the die in place so I could repair the threads on crankshaft of my Yamaha Rhino. There wasn't enough room to use the chrome extensions but I was able to turn the handle, by hand, just fine, and repaired the threads so I could tighten the nut. No complaints!

On the surface this tool appears to be well made, but I found it has some limitations. I purchased it to put 2 opposing 1 inch long threads on a 3/4" 1018 carbon steel rod. Halfway through the first threading the holding screws started to strip out. This bar material is tough stuff, and really too much for this tool. Before I got through the first threading three of the 5 screws were shot and the die would slip in the holder. I decided the only way to salvage the tool was to drill out the holes, add an extra hole and then weld the die into it. The tool is soft cast and won't weld at all. I was able to put a weld inside the holes which allowed me to finish the job.You can see in the photos how the weld was made. Not pretty but it worked. The die I used was effective once I got it to stay secured to the tool.For lighter material this might rate 4 or 5 stars. For this material it was just so so.

45mm is a bit of an odd size these days, but this wrench with all its screws will hold both sizes securely.

Can't turn a 55mm die with a pair of plires and expect to get it right. Gotta have the handle, it works.
