I have one currently that is 42 inches and wanted slightly smaller. Will be returning to find one that will actually be the size it is described as. First, I must mention that this portable small animal kennel's lightweight feel makes it the perfect addition for travel! If you need a manageable method to confine your furry one? I recommend trying this foldaway enclosure! Zipped on top and by side area, the functionality of keeping a small one secured is ensured with the use of! Foldable & provided with an exceptionally well-fitting satchel that allows easy access, in addition to a collapsible water/food bowl that connects to the inside side w a carabiner (also thoughtfully included). I am thrilled I choose this unit in my temp accommodations needs for a small cat found outside and isolated from other animals until a vet check-up is provided.Having little to no extra room in my tiny apartment, I was concerned about keeping her anywhere inside? One bathroom limits my ability to ensure safekeeping away until her health is checked. And not wanting to keep her inside a crate-type area? Delighted to notice this!I would strongly suggest using for a smaller pet, larger I would have less secure confidence, but the kitty mentioned is only 5/6 lbs max? And my adult chi is 5 lbs which I would feel fine placing him in if needed.I think excellent for taking with on hiking, camping, hotel stay? Or when visiting and you don't want the little one roaming about? Any needs for short-term confinement, I believe most useable, as even the included bowl flattens out!No concerns of where to store it after use as it fits perfectly in my tiny closet, not taking up any room at all! The size of a little one is something to be of consideration? But any smaller-sized pet would be fine, I believe like a bunny, kitten/smaller cat, smaller puppy/adult mini-sized is what I think best, but this is a true blessing for my needs & extremely pleased!

ordered this primarily for use for our little 8 month old 4 lb pomchi pekapoo, though our 2 10-ish lb pommies enjoy it as well (the 30 lb cockapoo/lab/husky, not so much.. but he's a big ole scaredy kat...).It is the perfect size for her to have plenty of space to lay around and play with toys if we are outside the fence or take her out visiting (or who knows... maybe even traveling sometime soon again...) Enough room for all three of the smaller girls to play a bit, even. Easily collapses when it's time to put up, and i love that it has the little carry pouch for it (not pictured because they haven't really let me take it down.. one of the girls in in there most of the time..) They love being able to "cave up" and have a defensible position for guarding their favorite toys or treats. We've pretty much kept it indoors for right now because the cottonwood is blowing where we live and I am highly reactive to it.. but I do love that there is a zippered mesh screen top for it to help keep insects or other things out of the pen. It is just nylon and mesh, so pretty sure it won't hold up to any real serious rough housing long term, but this does seem like a fun little play pen for small dogs, young puppies or other small pets. (am also pretty sure if our 5 yr old grand daughter came over she'd want to play in it...would NOT hold up to that... lol....)

Update: We brought our kitten on our boat this weekend. Set up her playpen on deck. She loved being outside. Mission accomplished. Back at home, I have it set up in my living room, I added her favorite blanket and she loves going in here to sleep.Original: This soft foldable play pen is super easy to open and close. It has an attached elastic strap you can secure it closed to insert in the carry bag. The top unzips to remove. A side entrance door can Velcro up or zip closed. We have a new kitten and this exercise pen will allow her to be able to travel with us by boat. She has been trying it out at home and is not afraid. She was just declawed and can not ruin the side netting. The other thing is we live in FL, if we ever have to evacuate for a hurricane I would have an area to keep her and I could add a small litter box. We are excited to be able to take her with us and use this for her to stay safe and get fresh air. It folds so easily, comes with a collapsible slow feeder bowl and the carry case. This size is not too small. A little bigger is always better but any smaller it would be too small. Also good for other small pets. It’s pretty sturdy but my cat is not jumping on it.

I got this playpen to use as an exercise area for our pet rat - which is, granted, not what most people would use it for. To give you an idea of the size, that is a standard-sized bathmat beneath him (and he is a very young rat, so not fully grown.)There are several nice features to this playpen, especially the zippered cover. I think it would be nice to have for a very small-breed puppy, used under supervision.However, the mesh sides could easily be climbed by kittens... and because the sides' frames can collapse in on themselves incredibly easily if you brush against it, I would not use it in an area where there were children or other pets who might jostle it.The fabric of the bottom, sides, and carrying bag is very thin. I don't feel it would hold up well to repeated abrasion from pets' nails.It's lightweight, it's portable, it's convenient, and it's easy to set up... but it's not very sturdy, so I would not leave a pet unattended in it.For the price, I would have expected somewhat thicker fabric.
