This is the stuff right here! 3x black felt rodeo hat that was flapping like a dying gull and it stiffened it right up like a bull. It didn't leave any residue behind or damaged my favorite hat. I suggest ya spray it a couple times right after you git er steamed. Gonna get me another bottle.

I purchased this for several FIRM hats I own that are a few years old that are overdue for a little maintenance and this product did the trick! My hats are both quality fur felt and wool felt. Again, they are all a firm style of crown and brim so the hat stiffener was capable of preventing drooping with the aid of steam, which is necessary: apply steam, gently shape, apply hat stiffener, allow hat to dry and repeat as needed for required stiffness. SIMPLE! DISCLAIMER: As a hat person, I WOULD NOT USE on the current trend of soft wool felt or cotton hats that are labelled as packable, crushable, easy to roll or fold! This item was never intended for that specific use! This and similar products are for hats specifically created to have some degree of stiffness when made due to style/function. Take or contact a hattery, people with the know-how and experience to do this properly or, unless you have actual long-term experience with do-it-yourself hat maintenance. Unless you like throwing good money away!!

Does what it’s supposed to do.

Ok so this review might not be fair because I was using it on a straw hat.. DID NOT WORK AT ALL. I thought I might get just a little firmness since it’s technically a “starch-like” product... nope. Didn’t change the color of the hat though, so that’s nice.

For a small size this is the best on the market. I have done many hats with this product
