Best battery operated bluetooth speaker, a lot better than Bose Soundlink 3.
The best battery operated bluetooth speaker currently on the market. It has the same 2600 mah battery that came with my HK onyx studio 2. The only difference between the studio 3 and the studio 2 is that the studio 3 will run on 60 watts (15 watts per speaker x 4) when plugged in and only 30 watts (7.5 watts per speaker x 4) on battery. While the studio 2 will run on 60 watts at all times, even on battery. As a result, studio 3 will sound a little weaker and less bass on battery than the studio 2 but sound exactly the same when plugged in. The trade off when operated on battery is that the studio 3 will last about twice as long as the studio 2 on a full charge. During my time using the studio 2; I notice that when operated on battery, the speaker last roughly between 2 to 2.5 hours max at about or little bit more than half volume. I never got close to the 5 hours maximum that HK advertised. With the onyx 3 it actually last me a little bit better than 5 hours on my last car trip on battery before needing to recharge. Which is a plus to me and the onyx 3 have the same feature as the onyx 2, except the onyx 3 you can pair up to two speakers at the same time. The speaker is a perfect size for my Lexus RX 300, it fit perfectly between my center compartment and the gear box (My passenger didn't realized it was there until I pointed it out to them). Also to allow the speaker to play at 60 watt during my long road trip, I use it with an Foval 300 watt inverter that plugged into the cigarette lighter with 2 AC outlet to plug in the Studio 3 charger. Don't get me wrong, when on battery the studio 3 sounds great, but when plugged in it sounds absolute amazing with rich and deep bass. Many of my passenger friends at first thought that a 2001 Lexus RX 300 actually came with bluetooth and they thought that I was playing music from my SUV speakers. Trust me if you have the money to get one, don't look elsewhere, you won't regret it. Make sure you buy it from a reputable seller, there are many reviews claiming that when they got their speaker either the serial number is crossed out or removed on both the box and the speaker itself so they couldn't authenticate the warranty with Harman Kardon. My guess is either they are not HK genuine product or possibly obtained illegally. I paid about 10 dollars more than cheapest seller by buying from Ritzcamera (A reputable business operating in California where I lived) on Amazon website. It came in a sealed box with serial number on the box and on the speaker itself, have no problem registering with Harman Kardon for the warranty.

Too much bass. It drowns out the rest. But..
If you adjust the equalizer on the source then it can sound pretty good. Gets loud too. Definitely fills the room. Biggest complaint is the bass and that the device must be manually turned on and off.

Absolutely Love It!
I purchased this for my daughter. We recieved it the same day I purchased it. Set up was quick and easy. Its compatible with both my Android and her Iphone. We both love it. The sound quality is awesome. Great bass fo a speaker that is so compact. She has it in her room, but when not in use I can acess it from mine through our wifi connection. I would definitely recommend this.

Great sound, great price
Best portable speaker for the money better than JBL extreme, for those worrying about battery life and with some electrical experience you can add more cells inside the speaker.

The sound is good but the battery dies after about 15 mins of play and has done this since I took it out of the box. I followed the 1st charge instructions and still not even enough battery power to walk from one end of the house to the other.
