I use this to cool down coffee in my thermos. It works alright-- maybe not as much as I was hoping, thermally-- but it's worth seeing that fisheye reflection slurping away.

Only cools it down. Drink will not get as cold as ice, and just barely more cooler, but also will not water it down. If you want the drink to be as cold as ice, it won't be.

These are hollow metal spheres (they'd be awkwardly heavy otherwise, might be more of a threat to the integrity of your glass) but they are filled with fluid -- feels about 40% full? -- so their heat capacity is higher than a hollow steel ball would ordinarily have. Great with cocktails -- no metallic aftertaste I can detect -- and for soda they seem able to cool down more than one 8oz glass. Downsides: they are huge, and they will roll around in your glass -- side to side, and also up against your nose when you are emptying the last of your drink. All around, these are great.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased these specifically for use when needing to cool down my freshly pulled espresso shot when I make my iced espresso drinks. Leaving the shot to sit causes it to "burn" which in turn takes away from the flavor. I just drop one of the balls in as soon as I pull my shot, and it cools it down to prevent burning. Perfect for my needs!

These will keep several drinks cold before needing to be refrozen. I would definitely recommend these stainless steel cubes because they are easily cleaned and stay cold longer. However I would recommend buying the square shaped ones instead of the round ones; the round ones roll around and tend to be noisy.

I don’t have to worry about accidentally swallowing the large size! I will be buying more of these for gift giving! This size stays cold a long time, love them! I noticed people complain about not having a container. All of mine conveniently fit in a 16 oz. OM deli turkey slice containers.
