Handles wind very well when guy lines are all setup
Got this tent for family car camping. Over the last few years, we've experienced heavy rains and strong winds. Everytime the tent has performed well. Our last outing was in the middle of the desert with heavy sustained winds 23-30 mph and frequent gusts. It really needed every one of the guy lines that are built into the rainy fly to stay upright. Setup is easy, less than 10 minutes once you've got the hang of it. Take down is easy too, and it comes with a storage back that easily fits the tent, fly and poles. Setup or takedown in the wind is a pain. I would give it 5 stars if it had a larger rainfly w/vestibule to cover the porch.Pros:- Lots of room.- Well ventilated.- Keeps dry in pouring rain.- More guy lines than the typical family tent are a huge benefit when there's wind.- Guy lines are reflective.- Storage bag-- you can actually get the tent, fly, poles in stakes back in the bag without too much effort.Cons:- 12x15 footprint (Evanston 8). Finding a big enough space has been a challenge in some developed campgrounds. Canyon campground in Yellowstone limits tents to 12x12.- Rainfly doesn't cover screened porch. I knew this before I purchased, but it's still a shortcoming Coleman could have easily fixed. Any items in this porch area will get wet in driving rains.- Like most tents these days, the stakes are pathetic and you'll need to buy good ones to hold things down in the wind.Setup tip: For windy conditions, be sure to fasten the rainfly to the tent poles with the velcro fasteners and stake down every guy line. For camping in deep, loose sand, anchor the guy lines to pvc pipes cut to 12" inch lengths. Bury them in the sand 18" deep. Our tent held up fine during a fierce Lake Powell storm while others ended up with snapped poles or blown in the lake.

Great value for money - looks like I got a defective pole though :(
Hi, I just got the tent yesterday, when assembling it today one of the poles cracked. Overall i really like the tent in terms of value for $$$, but a cracked pole in the first 20 minutes of life is a bit worrying. I'll probably put some gaffer tape around it for our upcoming camping trip, I'm hoping that the seller will work with me on replacing the poles. Seems like i just got a defective one based on all the stellar reviews on here.
