Fenix rising from the ashed, Most Definitely!
WARNING: If you suffer from Photosensitive Epilepsy, AVOID this high output lights strobe feature!!!In the past, SureFire has set the bar VERY HIGH. Well, this offering from Fenix in their brand new PD36 TAC has reached it and looks to have exceeded the bar! This beast is built tough and extremely dependable for sure. The lumen output is far beyond most all true work lights and the dual phase strobe is really and truly sure to cause disorientation of any attacker and Photosensitive Epilepsy in those with this medical issue so beware! A lot have claimed to be disorienting but the PD36 TAC REALLY follows through on this claim! IF you suffer from Photosensitive Epilepsy you most BEWARE the strobe feature on this Fenix light!!!!

Another high quality Fenix light
I use this light primarily for early morning runs. When running on the road, I can quickly activate it to make absolutely sure that approaching drivers see me. When running in the woods, I can leave it on at a lower setting (3rd or 4th level) for an entire run (multiple days) without worrying about the battery draining.THE GOOD:The mechanical lockout is a good feature to prevent accidental activation. The tail switch feels more durable than other soft plastic/rubbery switches. The included Fenix batteries seem high quality, and the USB-C port directly on the battery is convenient.NOT SO GOOD:In normal "duty" mode, it's easy to accidentally cycle to the next brightness level while trying to turn the light off (the only reason for deducting one star). The included Fenix batteries seem great, but I doubt that they're water proof since there's a USB-C charging port built in to the battery. I'm thinking that if I need to carry the spare battery while camping or hiking, I will have to make sure it's in a waterproof container (not included).

Great Multifunction Light
i own many lights from a variety of well known manufacturers including Surefire. The issue has always been that the lughts are single purpose, either tactical or gendral use. Recent lughts allowed you to switch modes, but the process was cumbersome in a pinch. This is the first light I have seen that allows for a rapid, easy, and intuitive way to switch operating modes. That, combined with brightness amd typical Fenix quality maked it a great buy and product.

Great tactical light
The rotating tail cap takes a little getting used to after 10+ years of button-only lights. But it’s just a matter of learning a new tool. This thing is BRIGHT and the battery lasts for hours and hours of intermittent use. Easily will get you through a 12hour night shift (barring extensive searching in open areas). It’s a lot of light for the money. Only thing I’d change is having a better place for a lanyard, I’m a fan of not being able to easily lose my light.

Cap could use a bit of work, but...
SUPER bright and tough like all Fenix flashlights. Love it. The switch to select the modes or disable the button is great, especially since I carry in pocket. The batteries last a good while. The only concern I have with it is the cap for the battery occasionally moves and the light won't turn on until it's unscrewed and screwed back on. So it's great for everyday use, but the PD35 Tac still wins out in emergency situations.

Not anywhere close to 3000 lumens
This flashlight is advertised as 3000 lumens. It is not. The PD36R is advertised at 1600 lumens and it is much brighter that this one. It is not just a defective flashlight as I returned the original and got a second one. Don't waste your money on this piece. It is also more difficult to change the settings quickly.

Great purchase.
my biggest knock on previous bright lights was the quick battery usage. So far so good with this one. And when it gets low recharge with a USB port. I plan on buying one or two more to keep in vehicles etc.

Poorly designed on off switch
On off switch kept turning on in my pocket. Switch is too complicated for assured immediate use. It goes back.
