Impressively Good!
I thought this would be a poor English version of a Japanese Animation, but boy was I wrong. I enjoyed this video and I can't wait for more.

Definitely close to Cagliostro caliber status
This movie has to be up at the top of my favorite all-time animated movie catalog. It is almost as good a movie as the Castle of Cagliostro, my #1 favorite animated film. The animation is astounding, especially considering this was the first CG film in the Lupin the Third franchise. It really puts many more recent Pixar films to shame, in my opinion, and really does deserve an Oscar win for Best Animated Feature.I've loved Lupin and the gang since the early 2000s when Part 2 of the anime appeared on Adult Swim. Tony Oliver, Richard Epcar, Lex Lang, Michelle Ruff and Doug Erholtz are the definitive voices, to me, for their respective characters. And they have done a phenomenal job in this feature as well. Although I do miss Dan Lorge's portrayal of Inspector Koichi Zenigata, Erholtz really holds his own as our favorite Interpol sleuth.Lupin III: The First has everything you'd want in not only a CG Lupin movie, but in any action movie as well. It has suspense, intrigue, comedy, great set-pieces, action sequences and even great spots of drama here and there. It is basically an Indiana Jones film set in the Lupin universe. Although nothing can pass up the hallowed Hayao Miyazaki classic, this movie and Cagliostro really are the best entry points into this superb anime franchise. You really can't go wrong with it!!!

A Triumph of Animation
I had never watched any of Lupin III before but a friend pushed me to watch this film and when I saw the teasers and trailers showcasing the gorgeous animation, I was intrigued. The movie's animation lived up to that intrigue, proving to be one of the most well animated CGI movies I have ever seen. But it isn't just a beautiful looking movie, the plot is a fun and simple classical adventure film and the dub cast absolutely knock the voice acting out of the park. A must see for all, even those who aren't major anime fans.

Baby's first Lupin the Third (besides Miyazaki)
Plot is ... Ok. Animation is gorgeous, and the writers and voice actors left in little gems for the fans ("fujicakes", etc.) of the anime.A big hit with the kids. Adults miiiight get a little bored, because this really is taking the already watered down Lupin from the old cartoons, and making it even more palatable for a general audience. Still, a nice, safe Lupin for the family who's already watched Castle of Cagliostro a million times.*The soundtrack is, as *always* with everything Lupin-- amazing. If you're into innovative 3D animation, and a great jazz soundtrack, you'll be very pleased.**Action sequences are good, and the comedy is easily grasped. Lupin isn't castrated as in Cagliostro, and he's cheekier.***I'd say for kids around 7 and up. There's guns, swords, and Germans who want to bring back the Nazi Reich. Obviously older children will grasp this more, but the younger ones can just grasp the general gist of "oh, hell no, we're stopping that from happening right now" - whatever that may be in their minds.****The uncle is emotionally abusive to the secondary character Letitia, so just in case that brings up bad stuff for anyone emotionally, you should be prepared, and do know it ends well for her.

Best CGI animated film I've seen
First things first: yes, the dub is kinda meh at times (subs not dubs), but I could tell there was actual effort made, and that the English VAs had genuine passion. The animation is simply a m a z i n g .I have never seen traditional anime tropes, style, and flair so accurately and brilliantly conveyed into 3D animation while simultaneously being so frickin s m o o t h .The story is albeit a bit generic, with flairs of Indiana Jones and Tintin, but there's so much personality that it's completely outweighed.Me and a friend watchpartied this together and had just an absolute blast and loved every moment. I only rented the movie, but I am 100% going to purchase it and rewatch it countless times, and I can't wait to show my partner.TL;DR, it's a decently generic story with amazing animation and simply outstanding personality. 11/10

Now our most favorite movie. Ever.
This past year, my wife and I discovered Lupin the Third. We have quickly immersed ourselves in all forms of Lupin, including Parts II, IV, and V, several TV specials, movies, and even the PS2 games. Lupin the Third: The First captures the best of everything from all facets of Lupin. It feels like an evolution of the classic Part II, has some of the most beautiful animation we've seen, perfectly updating the classic asthetics. The English dub wisely used the Tony Oliver/Part II cast ( whom have frequently resumed their roles ) ... I could go on all day. In short, it's a perfect jumping on point for new watchers, a love letter for fans, and overall a entertaining venture all around. We plan to rewatch this every day the rest of the week, just to soak up all the subtle details. We can't wait for more!

Pure Good Fun -Lupin steals your heart
My family and I LOVED this movie!!! Follows the basic treasure hunting plot with a number of plot conveniences but this movies does what Lupin does best: steal the best stuff. In this case, it even makes it better because the animation is so charming and impressive (much better than many Hollywood animated films currently and a perfect blend of cartoon and realism), the music is great, and the pacing keeps everyone interested! We got the dub and even though the lip syncing is a little off in the first part, the voice acting is top notch and so glad they used the original voice actors for the anime dub as well. Please watch this movie and keep supporting animation like this!
