spendy but worth the money
The seeds looks fresh, without chaff like stems, rocks, etc. My cardinals chow it down like candy. They are happy cardinals. As stated, the squirrels reject it and so do the parasitic cowbirds. Spotted towhees and little sparrows even love it. Very good stuff for my backyard feathered buddies.

Good Seed Quality
July 6, 2022 UpdateThis is my second order of the Easy Go Safflower. This order was of much higher quality seed. I was very happy with the quality and the total price (including shipping) was lower than the other suppliers on the Amazon web site. The product was shipped very quickly and arrived in good condition. While the total price (including shipping) was lower than most other Amazon sellers, the quality of the seed was poor. Instead of being a consistent white color, many of the safflower seeds were a discolored brownish color which might imply poor bulk storage conditions before "bagging" for resale. Also, there was fair amount of foreign matter (sunflower seeds, twigs, and other harvest debris) in the bag I received. If the price is still competitive the next time I order, I will give them one more chance under the idea that I may just have received safflower that was not representative of their normal quality. However, if the seed is again of poor quality, I will not order from them again.

Kitty entertainment
I could care less about feeding the birds per se. I feed the birds because the kitties love to watch the birds. For me, the feeders are kitty TV. This seed keeps the finches coming back and the grackles away. As such this is the most cost effective version to keep the kitties happy.

Seeds are clean and fresh.
Have ordered these three times and have been very pleased each time. Would recommend.

Great deal
This is the least expensive option for safflower seed if you can handle a 50 pound bag. It arrived in about a week. The bag is a woven plastic bag that is very strong. It was in a corrugated box. I would guess that it would take a good hit during transport to cause a tear to the bag. Mine was fine. The seed looks just like the seed I buy in the home improvement store.

For When the Birds Are Pigs
I have six feeders in my yard, including one dedicated to safflower seeds. Since squirrels in general don't like safflower seeds, I use these in a hopper feeder that accommodates larger birds and those, like cardinals, that prefer them. (Although one young squirrel in my yard has taken a liking to the seeds, most stay clear, although chipmunks and mice still love them.) This enormous bag fills two 5-gallon paint buckets with several cups of seeds left over. Because I feed so many birds, however, those extra seeds disappear in no time.During the summer, the birds can empty the entire feeder full of safflowers in two days. They are gluttons when it comes to these seeds. Safflower attracts mostly cardinals, house finches, Carolina wrens, mourning doves, song sparrows, and house sparrows. The goldfinches and squirrels could care less.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Seller Responsive
I recently started feeding straight safflower after researching ways to attract songbirds without also feeding nuisance birds such as grackle and starling. The songbirds (dove, cardinal, finch, chickadee, sometimes jays) absolutely love this seed, and 50# lasted me about 5 weeks. I’ve purchased this 50# bag twice (there’s a cost savings compared to buying the 15# bags from other sellers) but the second time they shipped me 50# of sunflower chips and pieces instead, which would basically turn my yard into a nasty starling/grackle restaurant. I contacted the seller and within 24 hours they issued me a full refund and were very polite, saying they were out of stock. I’ll definitely be buying this product again once they have it in stock in a couple weeks.

The birds are enjoying them.
Safflower seed seems expensive to me, no matter where I buy it. It is nice having the 50# bag delivered to my home. It pulls in a large variety of birds, and fortunately not the bears.
