It is the result of melted and fused glass powder fired with additive pigments at high temperatures of around 850°C, and the result is a smooth, shiny and chemical-resistance protective coating to whatever you dip in it. Non-toxic, enamel layer has excellent chemical stability, enamel has resistance to acid and alkali composition of corrosion , it is lead, cadmium and pfoa free.

Q: How well does this work for boiling milk? Does the milk burn on the bottom easily?

The first time I used this pan to simmer milk... It burned the bottom of the pot and I had to throw it away... I could not get the bottom of the pot clean.
