Being Mean Isn't Funny
I enjoy Jill Kargman's sense of humor, and for the most part, this was a good read. However, what started out as strong writing began to taper off for me with the rants about things (people) she doesn't like. Unfortunately, it was a real turn off and made me like her less, possibly because she detests people like me, her former fans.Everyone is entitled to their opinions, but Kargman takes it to a different level. While self-deprecating humor can be funny, I've never been a fan of making fun of others in a way that is mean. Being overweight is one thing that Kargman particularly detests - the obes (obese for those not familiar with Kargman slang) are repulsive. So... got me! This obes woman who watches Kargman's TV show and listens to her radio show shelled out hard-earned cash to purchase her book only to learn that she is disgusted by people like me. Comedians have free license to make fun of others. Don Rickles and Joan Rivers literally made a fortune doing just that and I find them both funny. Perhaps it's Kargman's generalizations vs. the jabs toward individuals? Not sure, but I'm no longer a fan. I wouldn't expect her to care.Different strokes for different folks kind of thing, but I won't be spending money or time on another Kargman novel, TV show, or radio program. Funny thing is, I would never have known about this side of her had I not read the book and would have continued to enjoy her comedic talents. On a much less dramatic scale, but it would feel like someone continuing to support Trump knowing he is a racist. (Again, MUCH different scale, but you can't "unknow" some things.)I do like the idea of sprinkling glitter on my grave - sage advice, and there are many genuinely funny laugh out loud moments. Being mean isn't funny, though, especially at this time in our history when being kind and smart are in short supply. Making fun of others - generally speaking - is taking the easy way out. It takes absolutely no effort, and I feel Kargman is too smart for that.No longer a fan.

Different generations.
After doing some quick math, I realized I am the same age as Jill's parents. I could not relate to The MTV and later rock n roll stories. However, I could relate to The MOMZILLAS and camp experiences. I went to summer camp with a friend. We were the only Jerseyites. There was one Brooklynite, and of the remaining campers, the rest were bonafide JAPS from the five towns of Long Island. I understand what peer pressure can do to a person, and I am thrilled that I no longer have to pay attention to it. With age comes wisdom, if you pay attention along the way. Glitter is interesting and laugh-out-loud funny in many parts. However, I am truly disappointed in your characterization of Miami Vice and Miami's Art Deco colors. I am a transplanted NEW Yorker who loves all the architecture, colors, different designs of South Florida. I have lived here for two-thirds of my life and plan to stay forever. While I share in your happiness of passage of SCOTUS rulings, I find your intolerance of overweight people upsetting. Some of us really do have hormone problems that interfere with good diet sense. In addition, having an inherited gene pool filled with "fat genes", makes matters worse. Your book is humorous. But I have to say that I am thrilled that, despite being born in NYC, I now consider Miami home.

One of My Favorite Humorists
I love Jill Kargman's show Odd Mom Out, and desperately needed more of her voice and humor in my life. She's definitely a unique voice, think grown-up Wednesday Adamms, wife and mother of three. There were moments in which Sprinkle Glitter came off a little too snobbish and almost-mean. But that's alright—i know I'm basic, anyway. I flew through Sprinkle Glitter on my Grave, and I can't wait to read more of Kargman's books.

Don't bother
I'd never heard of Jill Kargman until I recently say her on Seth Meyers. I thought she was very funny on the show so I decided to give her book a try. This book was awful.I had to stop about halfway through because I couldn't take it any longer. It's not funny. Not even a little funny. Most of the book is her telling stories about her life, but they're not funny stories in the vain of Tina Fey or Mindy Kaling, they're just things that happened. She has chapters where she just lists independent thoughts she links are funny and most of them are not at all original. They come of really tired.I am a fan of salty humor, I loved Chelsea Handler's books, but man is this chic just mean. Seriously, not funny or clever, just mean. And she loves to brag! Not in a fun endeering way, in a "I get it, you have more money than me!" way. The weirdest thing is that she brags constantly but then tries to make you have sympathy for her because she's not nearly as rich and fancy as the other moms she deals with.I love comedic memoirs and books of essays, especially by female writers but all I could think while reading this was "OMG I hate you."

Very funny and incredibly witty
Her observations about her family, remind me of my own family and our superstitions and morbidity. I to have a family that loves to talk about our debts, but her burial plots, and joke about what her grave stones would say. This is my very favorite book of Jill's yet, I look forward to reading more essays of hers in the future and of course some new episodes of Odd Mom Out.

Light, humorous, I loved reading this book.
Love the TV show "odd Mom Out" and feel the same about the book. It is written to entertain and it is a homerun. Have not read any of Jill's other books, however now I want to read them. Jill, thanks for keeping me smiling in between seasons of the show. Great job. This is my 3 book because I want to share the enjoyment with friends. Can't wait to see your stand-up comedy show in January.....

Sometimes it's like Jill is in my head
Sometimes it's like Jill is in my head. If you don't share some of her likes and dislikes, you might feel a little judged. I love her and had a feeling we'd get along. :)
