Great airless technology!
Can't say enough about the technology in these Evak containers. The lid slides up and down smoothly so it is easy to use and I don't have to fumble with the lids ever. My foods stay fresh and intact. Bought these because I had a breakout of grain bugs in my cabinet foods. Now I protect all my food and have not had a problem. Canisters are a little pricey but worth it for me.

Perfect for coffee
Place about 1-3 LB of coffee in here every month, then store in freezer to keep fresh, works great!

Great Pantry Storage Solution.
These are very nice storage containers for dry goods in your pantry. We use them for popcorn kernels, dry noodles and chips of all sorts. They appear to be pretty rugged and well constructed. I was a bit apprehensive about washing the plunger since it is full of holes and I was worried about the water getting inside and causing problems but a wash and overnight dry and all seems to be well. The only advice I can give is to be sure that you have the plunger straight when storing your food. If the plunger is crooked it will allow air in that can destroy chips and foods that will soak up moisture. They stack well and are easy to use. You can buy these with confidence.

VERY GOOD UNTIL IT BREAKS
This works really well, especially for roasted coffee beans. One major drawback though. I don't believe it is made of tempered glass. If it is, the tempering is of poor quality or grade. Sitting on a flat Formica counter, my canister was accidentally tipped over. The thing shattered starting at the glass bead edge (the rim) and broke into several large pieces. Esthetically it looks great on a kitchen counter with the clean lines of the cylinder profile. If I had known the glass was untempered or poorly tempered I may not have bought it. If I decide to buy another of this same one I'll find a rubber band or some other type of material in a ring shape that will fit snuggly around the rim of the cylinder at the top.Its narrow enough and tall enough that it doesn't take much to tip it over. A ring of some kind of shock absorbing material should extend the life of this thing. The capacity is adequate for 1 pound of coffee beans and the two-way valve plug-handle works very well. Buy this cylinder but find a ring made of some kind of rubbery, spongey, shock absorbing material that will prevent the rim from contacting the counter surface. OR, buy the acrylic cylinder unless you must have glass.

Weird in a good way!
I like this container. The lid is weird in that it fits inside the canister and pushes the air out as you close it over the coffee beans or whatever dry goods you are storing, but it keeps the beans very fresh and it’s very easy to use!

Spend a little more and get the glass version which actually works
I purchased several of these as they are stackable and I own several of the stainless steel and glass canisters and love them. Unfortunately this plastic product does not compare to the glass version. The plastic canister and plastic handle are NOT airtight and will not keep your food fresh. The canisters are somewhat flexible and the plastic seal at the bottom of the handle (vs stainless steel on the glass canisters) is also flexible. The combination of flexible plastic canisters and flexible seal allow for gaps and air to get in. Very disappointed.

Cracked Plastic
I am using glass canisters with metal tops from Prepara and find them to be excellent for storing coffee. I bought this plastic one (I roast my own coffee and have small quantities of coffee in storage at all times) thinking it would be safer than using glass but preferable to metal so I could view the beans. This was a mistake, The plastic is thin and at some point it cracked. While still usable I suspect some air is getting into the coffee. For some reason coffee beans adhere to the top and when opened some spill on the floor. I intend to replace this with a glass/metal one from Prepara and use this for storing rice or dried legumes.

Holds 3 pounds of whole bean coffee
Some people stated that this seem flimsy or thin; that may be, but it's still effective and keeps a full three-pound bag of while bean coffee fresh for the month it takes me to use it. The seal may not feel sufficiently tight, but I'm certainly not complaining.

Surprisingly better than the airscape.
Very well built. The handle comes apart so you can clean it. Unlike the air scape handle that is one piece you can clean it. The O ring is silicone too. Lastly, it has double check valves to have air pushed out during closing. and also to allow co2 buildup to escape which is good for coffee beans. The airscape closes the ports which are not even checkvalves, once you close the handle. So much better for coffee. Baring all the technicalities you can taste the difference in coffee between the two. The beans don't become stale from the co2 out gassing that coffee beans have after roasting.Overall I'm surprisingly impressed with it
