This thing is PERFECT for smartphone pictures in dark nightclubs without using flash. Just turn it on, hold it out over one shoulder and move it closer/farther or use the brightness knob to get just the right amount of fill light, but you'll still see the environment behind your subjects. Very nice pictures that way. Totally worth it for these kind of shots, and I haven't even tried it with my "real" camera yet!In my club uses, the lowest brightness was fine, but for a full-length shot of a couple, I did have to crank it up a little bit. Don't recall if I hit the max or not.Try it, you'll like it.

Great little lights. Light output is very "cold"
These are great although the light output is very "cold" and doesn't mix well with typical interior lighting. Easy enough to tape a bit of gel over it tho.

Best light for the money
This is one of the best investments I made in a while. I don’t know why I took so long to get one. It is powerful, long lasting, light weight, and compact. I can have an assistant hold it with out a stand if need be. I am definitely going to get at least 2 more

Battery Beware!
Used once, battery went into hibernation mode or died and was unable to be charged again. Looking around the internet this is a common/known issue. Super frustrating! I sent it back.

Exactly what I was looking for
Got this as an additional light source for taking night photos with my instax or with my video camera. It's the perfect size (compact enough to throw in my handbag, emits a powerful light, and the dimmer knob is crucial. The light is very cold when you use it as-is, but I put a 1/2 gel and some diffusion paper over it and now the light quality is yummy. A great deal for the price.
