RKX Gas cap replacement seal for VOLVO Fuel petrol XC90 XC70 S80 S70 V70 S60 XC 90 (1)

Didn't want to go out of my way to visit an Advance Auto parts store and had this in less than 3 days. My 2002 Volvo V70XC had the check engine light (P0440 code) and the code for was for a small emission leak. Old gasket on gas cap was cracked and I replaced with the RKX seal and reset the code and hasn't gone back on since.Update: 7/5/2018-check engine light never came back on after replacing the seal on the gas cap. Glad there was a simple, less expensive solution than paying a lot of money at a service station.

This is exactly what I was expecting to receive. No bad surprises. It wasn't hard to remove the old seal or put the new seal on. If anything, I wasn't sure I had the seal on right at first, but it was properly seated and it made the notification to tighten the gas cap and the check engine light go out. It's very expensive for what you get (a little rubber ring) but it's cheaper than buying a new gas cap and it solves a problem so it's worth the price to me.

Although this seal didn't look exactly like the original Volvo gas cap seal (had a "flat" look to top and bottom) it fit perfectly and after a few hours, the 'check engine' light finally went off. I was surprised how cracked and in need of replacement the original seal was. This is an inexpensive fix for that 'slight emissions leak' fault.

i put the seal on the cap but have not driven the car far enough to see if the check engine light will come on again. sorry!if the light does come on again, it probably will not be caused by not having a good gas cap seal. i'm sure it will be just fine.

I'd get a check engine light on my Volvo C70 every so often. I saw that the old gasket was showing evidence of age and had developed cracks. I bought this gas cap ring, changed it and cleared the codes - no problems sine then. Highly recommended
