Good chiminea
I had one like this before many years ago. It lasted for years. I like that with this, you can receive the heat anywhere around the chiminea giving you more heat. Very attractive.

Nice fire pit stove
We use this on our deck. I put it together in about 30 minutes by myself. The cover that came with it is nice and thick and fits well.

Almost Great - expect to modify upon arrival.
This purchase had real pros and cons - but ultimately, I'm a happy customer. Overall, the structure is solid - I'm sure this chimenea will last for a long time. The cast iron topper provides a substantial amount of weight, so there's no worry about it blowing over in high winds. Assembly took some patience, not all the holes lined up well, but you can force-fit everything into place. Here's what needs fixing...1 - The contour of the door doesn't match the contour of the chimenea. That means the door will not slide easily. Not fixable in my estimation.2 - Chimenea does not have a handle - so don't expect to be opening it up with a fire going inside. Bought some door pulls from HD - this allows it to slide better, but we typically just lift the door on/off as needed.3 - Round grill only sits about 1" off the fire pit floor - that doesn't leave much room for ash or smaller charcoal pieces. Drawer too small and fills quickly. These two problems prevent any real air-flow and suffocate the fire. Try constructing a riser to keep your fire alive longer.4 - No drainage in the basin. Drilled a few 3/8" holes to prevent water build up and rust. Also creates add'l airflow beneath the fire. BE ADVISED: this may allow ash and embers to fall out - pay careful attention when the pit is in use.My revisions added about $60 to the overall price of this item - but they've made this a nice upgrade to evenings in the backyard.

Great outdoor heating system
I wanted to buy one of those iconic New Mexico-style outdoor clay chimneys, but after reading several reviews, as well as seeing some inexpensive ones found locally, I decided that this would be better than the clay chimney, as cheap clay chimneys have a history of cracking and peeling quickly (unless you buy a good one that is typically pricier). This was my compromise, and I'm so happy I bought it. It looks great, works great and provides exactly what I was looking for.

Keeps the smoke away, views all around
This is perfect for our patio, the chimney draws the smoke up and away as long as the wind doesn't overwhelm it. Friends can sit all around and enjoy the view. It was easy to assemble, all the pieces fit nicely together. It was a birthday present for my wife and she loves it, and if she's happy everything is good!

Can use multiple ways; chimney moves the smoke up away from one's face
This is not built like a rock but it works. The cast iron is only the chimney and topper; the rest is thin sheet metal. I knew that hot fires (way hotter than they suggest one burn) will burn through the bottom fairly quickly, so I added a heat shield on top of the base and grate (so far I just bought a broiler pan from a thrift shop, to make the firepit last longer. I believe the instructions say to burn no more than 4 pounds of wood in it, but that's no fun, which is why I added more protection for the base. What I really like about this is: it's round, so people can site all around it. The chimney really helps getting it started, so the smoke is started up, rather than circulating in faces. But what I do is leave the chimney not screwed on, so that after the fire gets going and there are some coals, I lif off the chimney (using insulated leather fireplace gloves) and set it aside - then the fire is more visible, and I can way over fill the firepit (beyond the recommendations instructions). Of course I am burning wood that is dry and doesn't spark too much, and I am burning it in green grass, not try tinder. Be careful and enjoy!
