I thought Tap N Go was a bit of a gimmick but I was willing to give it a try. Turns out I really like it and it works really well. I installed this on a 3' tall wood door in a walkway through my garage port area. It closes against a regular fence latch. It is sheltered from the weather. We go through this door constantly and groceries come through here so the Tap N Go is great for Costco runs. It is fully adjustable, the speed it closes and the force to latch at closing. I found it easy to adjust. We have had it installed for over a year and it still works the same as the day it was installed and is quiet. About the Tap N Go feature... When you open the door you can hold it open by just pressing a lever/button on the cylinder with your arm, knee, whatever. As the door closes or if you try to close it a little the button will pop out and it is set to stay open and to be released by simply pushing the door open a little. As you are going through just push the door open about 2" more and release and the door closes. I could see how a light aluminum screen door that catches the wind might over power the latch. It is designed to overcome the gas strut's power to close the door not stop a gust of wind from forcing the door shut. When I was purchasing I saw a few reviews of it failing this way and I would say you should not use this feature in windy conditions. To be fair, I think if you had a traditional closer with the metal plate that you slide down the rod to keep the door open, there would have been failure during that gust. The failure just would have been at another week point like the screws holding the closer to the door or frame would have failed. One of the reasons why I think ours has held up is that pretty much only my family that lives in the house uses it. Visitors seem confused by the door being propped open and some have tried to force it to close which, fortunately, we stopped them from doing but I would say that this is the one weakness in that people don't generally know how to use it and could break it. Like, say you set it open so UPS can bring in a few boxes and as they leave they turn and try to force is closed. So you just have to be careful to let people know to just push it open a little to let it close. Most people will stop when they feel the resistance. I have not had anyone break it yet. If they did I would just buy another. It's a nice feature

I had one failing so I got this as a replacement. It is so easy to use. Push open door and bump lever with your hip and door stays open. No fumbling with two hands to get a bit of metal to hold door in place. When ready to close it just push open a bit more and release. Couldn’t be easier.
