I was set to return it when I felt how soft and non supportive it was, until I actually laid down on it and tried it out
When I opened it up, I was all set to dislike this. I'm a fan of memory foam, and I understand the various bonuses and drawbacks, so it wasn't just that I was unfamiliar or anything. It expanded fine after unpacking, and the smell is minimal, didn't even bother me sleeping on it 7 hours after I unboxed it, so I'm not worried about how long it may take to dissipate, it's already a non issue. But it was far softer than I had expected, VERY squishy. I have two other memory foam pillows and this is by far the softest and least supportive of them all. So even as I was getting into bed I was ready to have to return it.But then I laid down on it, and I have to say, I was surprised. As soft and squishy as this is compared to the other ones I have, I didn't expect the curved shape to make any difference in the comfort, but it really did.I was in a car accident that damaged my spine. I had been paralyzed temporarily afterwards but even though it's been years, I still have issues with neck pain and nerve pain and numbness in my arms and shoulders and neck if I move my head in certain ways. So sometimes it can be difficult to find a comfortable spot when I'm laying that doesn't trigger at least a LITTLE discomfort. But this pillow worked. My head was at a good angle, and despite the softness, it didn't "over-settle" too much and lose the benefit of the shape and the way it holds the head and neck at a better angle than a normal pillow. All told, I was surprised, and happy.

Perfect for neck stiffness and spasms
As a person with a nerve impingement and weak rotator cuff, maybe this review will be worth a penny.I got this pillow in Sept while on fmla (meaning I'm in my bed a lot!). Pillow is super comfy. It's not like a classic stuffed pillow that just caves and loses shape over time. Nor is it quite as unforgiving as as a foam pillow. It gives a little when you lay on it but still provides support magically. It did not immediately fix all my reclining woes with my shoulder, but when mixed and matched with a couple of other style pillows, allowed me to sit comfortably and mostly pain free. However, yesterday I got up and made a weird movement sending my neck into a very bad spasm. That's when the true value of the pillow became evident. With a combination of a heating pad, Tylenol, pain ointment and this pillow, I was able to sleep pain free last night. Historically, it takes me slightly more than two days to get past these without a supportive pillow. However, this morning I'm able to move around fairly well. I believe that is due to the exceptional support this pillow offers the neck.As for the smell... I'm sensitive to smell. This has one at first. I'd describe it as an wet earthy grass smell. With one pillowcase on it, I would get whiffs of it when I reclined against it. I threw a towel on top of that and couldn't smell it at all. It lasted a couple of weeks and is now no longer an issue.

Love this pillow so much! Note the size though.
These pillows are amazing! I’m not one of those people that can sleep anywhere under any condition. I’m not ultra picky but I do like things certain ways for me to sleep soundly. This pillow is one of those things. If I could travel with it, I would. It’s the perfect amount of firmness for me. I’ve previously had a similar pillow from a big retailer that lasted a few years but ultimately worn down, so only time will tell if this wears down or not. This pillow best suits side sleepers. Depending on your neck, you may be able to use it if you’re a back sleeper. This pillow has a side taller than the opposite side, as shown in the stock photos. I use the smaller/shorter bump side. I occasionally use the large/taller bump side if I have a cramp in my neck just to give it a little more support. One thing to note about the size of this pillow: queen size is actually pretty large. I’d say it’s a normal king size pillow. The seller/manufacturer used to make a standard size that’s really a normal queen size, but the queen size being sold now is larger than a normal queen size. This works out for me because I needed a king size pillow to match another one that I already have, but wanted to let everyone know in case you were looking for a normal standard size pillow.Bottom line is that this is a really great pillow and I hope the seller/manufacturer will continue to make it!

My chiropractor suggested it! It truly helps my neck feel supported
I have had this pillow for exactly over 1 year. I love love this pillow! I never go on any trips with out it! I roll it up and stuff it in my suit case. I was worried to get it at first because I loved the feeling of the down pillows ,but after a couple of weeks having this pillow, I hate using down feather pillows while I sleep now. My chiropractor said my neck is all out of place because of the pillow I was using . So he suggested me this pillow and my neck feels a lot better. This pillow has two sides to it, one side has a higher/ thicker side is for the side sleepers and the lower/ thinner side is for back sleeper. Overall the point of the pillow is that it gives you the support you need for your neck and what I love about it you dont ever have to worry about your pillow getting flat . I recommend this to anyone who has neck problems or just looking for a new pillow Iv tried all the pillows at bed bath &beyond which ment I spent more $$ until this pillow came into my life.

Not quiet right for me.
The pillow does prevent over heating and it is great when you move the pillow and your head lands on a cold spot on a warm night. I'm still using the pillow after three weeks. I fall asleep and sleep well. I gave it three stars as it isn't my perfect pillow there is a hardness that doesn't go away. The pillow molds to your head but it isn't 100% comfortable. The pillow is firm supports my neck and all other wrong pillow related aches and pains are alleviated but it's this hardness and a mild headache which occurs if I sleep wrong on the pillow that stops it getting 5 stars. It's still in use because it's much better than my old one and quiet a few others I've tried. And yes there was a nasty chemical smell that lasted about a week. I just aired it out during the day and splashed lavender oil at night. If you want a firm pillow this is a good one but if you want a supportive pillow to snuggle up to not quiet the 9ne your looking for.
