Love it! Planning to order more as gifts.
Perfect for a young child learning to draw things for the first time. Very simple visual instructions. The strokes are kept intentionally easy (straight lines, circles, parts of circles, curves, etc.). Sequentially, the pictures get slightly more difficult by the end of the book, but none of it is difficult or daunting. My 4-year-old wanted to skip around, but when I saw that the later pictures were slightly harder, and builds upon the strokes/lines learned in the earlier pictures, I encouraged him to go in order. Wish there were more books that are as good as this one. I've looked at a few others intended for kids, but they are either a little more complex or are not laid out visually as clear and simple as this one.

Good
I would have liked more easy ones (I mean reeeal easy) but other than that I am satisfied. My daughter likes it.

Excellent drawing book for kids
I love this book. My five-year-old daughter is a good artist, but sometimes, the vision in her head doesn't match up to her drawing abilities, and she gets VERY frustrated. I hated to see her say she couldn't draw, so I ordered this book. The second she got it, she sat down and draw every single drawing in the book. I asked her if she liked it and she said yes. I asked her if she knew she could draw, and she said, "This book helped me, because I'm drawing cool stuff. Sometimes, I think I can't draw, but I can." Mission accomplished. I like that she can save it for reference and do the drawings on regular paper.

Love it!
I'm glad I bought this book for my 5yr. old daughter. She had a great time following the steps on how to draw certain images. The best thing about this book is you can photocopy it and use it as an activity with other kids.

I've seen so many "how to draw" books that have a few steps and don't really show what to do in between (ex: they go from a few ovals to a complex horse drawing in about 6 steps). In this book, each step actually is just one small step/addition to the last, and is appropriate for children ages about 4-6 (or even older children who are working on their fine motor skills or hand-eye coordination or just wanting to learn to draw very simple drawings).

I have just received the book - which is about an A4 size. It is American as some of the words are inchworm, ladybug, truck and jack o lantern, but the pictures are there, and its all about how to draw afterall. It uses known shapes like triangle, circle etc to help produce the pictures and gives a step by step explanation of each section of each drawing. It also gives you extra things to try on each page like other activities to try like how to make a butterfly out of household items etc. It also gives teachers tips, theme links (eg seasons) and book links (recommended books to look at) I personally think its a well thought out guide to start off children to draw. It helps them get used to drawing shapes and using them creativley - What a wonderful book! :) I bought it for my 4 yr old who is 5 next month, and recently noticed that he's still drawing stick people - Im looking forward to helping him do something I love the most - draw :)
