The catholic planner academic year is made specifically for catholic students. It features the layout that thousands of Catholics love about the original catholic planner with small alterations to cater to students. The academic calendar year in the catholic planner is august 2016 through July 2017. New features include a weekly layout that allows you to separate your days by subject and a section that asks you how were you in awe of god throughout your week, so you can always feel his presence. It's a journal. It's a planner. Stay on track with your goals and your catholic faith.

More of a Diary/Journal
Very nice book, but better suited as a Spiritual Diary/Journal than an appointment book/planner.Purchased it because as Director of Adult Religious Ed, I needed a planner dated for this Fall's curriculum. But due to its bulky-thickness, and overabundance of space dedicated to journaling, I'm going to have to find something more suited to my needs.A Monthly calendar spans two-pages, as do the weekly pages. While I can understand the justification for starting the week on a Monday (to keep the weekend days together), I fail to see the logic in truncating the space allotted for weekends.Given that this is a "Catholic Planner" (academic dating aside), weekends tend to be some of the busiest days for Catholics, what with various church-related events & activities. In my opinion, this is a very fine and unique book for aiding in one's spiritual growth. However, due to the potential responses of a deeply-personal nature to the various questions & promptings, I find myself uncomfortable carrying it about to public gatherings, meetings, etc.Furthermore, for those in need of just a liturgical-type planner, $35 is a lot to pay.Thank you for reading,-CC, Amazon Prime Member-Reviewer

Best planner I've seen
Wow! This is much more than expected and certainly worth the price. When I fist picked it up, I was surprised at the quality of the cover and the overall feel of this. The quality of the binding is awesome, it's actually sewn together. I appreciate the details included with this: the cardboard sleeve, the rear pocket flap, the fountain pen logo. Although the devotionals are a little excessive--before every single week--they are good enough to actually be used. The layout of each week is superb: eight divided rows for each subject with title slots on the left, a to-do list with priorities on the right, and Saturday and Sunday on the bottom as well as a notes section. The marking ribbon, while a great and useful feature, is a little too short to pull the cover open easily, however. I'm going into my senior year of high school now (I'm sure it hold up all year), and I happily plan on using this same brand through college.

I have got to say, I've been waiting for a while to get this planner and I do love it, one of the primary reasons for getting it was so that I know what feast/memorial day it is on the day. First of all, it's not written on the day, which I knew when I purchased it. I wish they were. But more importantly, many memorials are left out just upon first glance when comparing with my parish calendar that we all receive through Catholic Extension. For example, Aug. 16th, St. Stephen of Hungary, Aug. 22, the Queenship of the Virgin Mary, and Aug. 29, the Passion of John the Baptist. I really want a thorough treatment of the days so that I can know at a glance. If you can improve this for subsequent planners, that would be very nice.

Great organizational tool, as well as the perfect tool for Spiritual Direction and/or Spiritual growth.
I just started using this planner. Not only is it a great organizational tool, but is perfect to use for spirtual direction, particularly the beginning section which would be perfect to go over with your Spiritual Director. Each 2-4 weeks you can easily review your goals and progress with your Spiritual Director. You can also view your goals and progress easily on your own. I'm so excited to start my new semester in Graduate school with this planner!I wish this came with more ribbons to mark a few pages at once. I also wish the Feast Days were on the actual monthly calendar and that the monthly calendar was larger.A smaller, less expensive academic version would be wonderful for our HS senior and our 8th grader.

I strongly recommend the Catholic Planner for any teen who wants to grow academically and spiritually. The Catholic Planner provides ample space for teens to reflect on their spiritual and academic progress and their path to sainthood. This planner is more than I expected and my favorite section is the 'Weekly Retreat'; it provides students to take a moment to reflect on when they were in awe of God and the Sunday's Gospel. I will recommend this journal to my friends as I truly believe that it is a wonderful tool for teens to connect with God and themselves.

I was a little skeptical about the space on the planner because I write in big letters, but I have to say that I completely love it! I love how it really does help deepen your faith by having different sections for you to be able to journal. I don't regret buying it at all!

Excited to start this journey!
I just reviewed this product and am already excited!! I love the academic layout because it will be easy to read and use. The best part is the "path to sainthood" and "weekly reflection" sections. This will help me keep focused on what is truly important.
