Fajitas are a once-a-week type dinner in our house; it’s a firm family favourite, especially with our teenage girls, so I was very keen to try a new brand of fajita mix (our regular is Santa Maria), just for a change. Cooking the mix with strips of chicken thigh and some red and yellow peppers, I found it as easy to use and prepare as any other fajita mix and the cooking odours were very tantalising.Sadly, when it came to the actual eating, I found the actual taste of the the mixture pleasant enough, but a little underwhelming. It was certainly mild enough for the whole family to enjoy (not all of my family members like spicy food as much as I do, which is why I tend to jazz my fajitas up with jalapeños), but I found the subtle, smoky flavour a little bit disappointing and it was easily overwhelmed by the other ingredients. I will definitely use the remaining packets I have, but will be looking forward to going back to our regular fajita mix afterwards.To surmise: pleasant, but a little too mild flavoured for my liking. The whole family also agreed that their regular brand was preferable.

We’re vegetarian and have been using this smoky chipotle seasoning to add flavour to quorn pieces. It sprinkles nicely over the pieces to evenly cover and flavour. As long as the pieces are continually stirred whilst over the heat, the flavouring won’t cause the pieces to stick to the pan which does unfortunately happen with some brands of seasoning. The cooking process does not take long. The flavour isn’t too hot which is exactly how we like it. It’s a medium heat so it has a kick but isn’t so hot that it takes away from the flavour, the smoky flavour is noticeable and tastes really nice with fajitas, I’m going to also use it to make taco’s. The price is really good at £6.00 for 5 packets which works out at £1.20 each, it is great value for money.

Bought this for the first time last week and we loved it - plenty of flavours, spicy and hot but not hot in a raw way, so we could still taste the spices, the chicken and the vegetables. I rubbed it on chicken strips and left them for a couple of hours and then cooked it with onions and sweet peppers and put it all in tortilla wraps with iceberg lettuce.

These packets of Mexican smoky chipotle fajita seasoning mix were absolutely delicious we had it with chicken , peppers , onions on a bed of noodles , my wife,s suggestion . I thought it would be hotter to taste than it was and it was just right for our taste so we were pleased . Lovely flavours and nice and spicey and the yogurt added was a nice touch . We enjoyed it all and cannot wait to try out the other packets on some more recipes . This is a top seasoning and fairly priced !

I used the first sachet in a Mexican Beanpot and it tasted great and was fairly hot. It provides all the spices I usually add separately in one sachet. The only downside for me is that it's fairly high in sugar and salt. I had to adjust my usual recipe to account for this. I don't see the need for the sugar, in particular. When people are trying to cut down on things like this for their health, I'd appreciate it if companies would take this into account.The spices were spot on.
