I’m half German and have a couple of very old German recipe books but they are falling apart so ordered this one and it has some of the recipes I wanted in it but not all but 8/10 so very pleased

Loads of recipes but the actual writing is of a very poor standard, even for Americans.

This book is very disappointing - badly edited and poorly laid out. I don't blame it for the unpleasantness of much of the German cuisine it contains, but it is a particularly uninviting book in its own right.

I don't Mind the lack of pictures but not even the text is without fault,

Easy to read print. Easy to follow recipes. Great variety of recipes. Book came in a timely manner. Book came undamaged, Book was in stock. Book was priced at market values. Book was what I did order. Book did meet my needs / wants / requests.

Having cooked a few recipes now it's exactly what I wanted - the food's great and the variety of options means it's great value in terms of different ideas for all sorts of occasions. The recipes are also down-to-earth home style which saves a lot of struggle filling your pantry with 600 different ingredients you'll only use for the two dishes you don't really need. Brings back great memories of working and traveling in Germany. A thing to note about the book - it's in imperial (US) measurements, so if you're like me and grew up on metric cooking you'll need a converter.My only issue with this is the production value. A great independent book, but the production value is really not all there for a published cookbook. The book itself is a printed Microsoft word document using default style and setup and even the default Calibri font. Recipies sometimes share pages, making the book feel cramped. Presentation could be dramatically improved with a different than default font choice, spacing of recipes, and document formatting.
