Good functionality. Replaces my Promote.
20170428 Update: I am regrettably changing my rating from 4 stars to 1 star. On a concept basis, this is almost 5 stars. On an execution basis, it's a 1, and it's because of the mechanical unreliability of the device. On my third shooting session during a trip to the Maldives, I began to experience erratic connectivity. Pin looseness was the problem. And once it starts, there seems to be no regaining reliable connections. I bought two of the full kits. I love the idea, but without a threaded barrel collar to lock it down, I simply cannot rely on the device. Too bad. In this day and age of underwhelming and over-hyped products, Pinout was a welcome change. The software UI is quite good, though occasionally confusing, and significantly better than just about anything not named CamRanger [which I also own and use when I want to be able to access Live View on my iPad]. I may try some tape to see if that will keep it secure enough to use throughout a session. But I will also have my Nikon MC-36A remotes for both cameras. Not as easy, but reliable.First Review: I understand the problem of pin looseness highlighted by another reviewer, though I have not experienced it yet. Absence of a screw-down connection means that there is significant risk that camera movement or external jostling could cause loss of contact or even for the device to pop off the camera. A little tape might help, but otherwise, that's the primary mechanical improvement I would like to see. But, so far, it is working great for me. I bought the full kit for my D4S, and I might well also for my D810A. I knocked off one star because the app is not as intuitive as it should/could be. But it is a significant improvement over my beloved Promote rig that I have used for several years. I have a TriggerTrap rig coming in soon, and I expect to compare that. With several trips coming up with significant tripod and night photo opportunities, I am looking forward to using both.P.S. I get the Live View functionality, but would it have killed Nikon to give us a good old, or modern electronic version of, mirror lockup?

I really want to give this a 5 star rating...but can't.
I really want to give this a 5 star rating, I really like all the features...when they work. he problem my PINOUT has is using it on my Nikon D810, the pin connection is not consistent, I have a 10 pin wired remote that works so I know it is not my camera connector. my guess is the pins are too thin, but it certainly does not have the screw to hold it on the camera. Sometimes on HDR shots the first frame doesn't fire, I jiggle the PINOUT on the camera, it reconnects and it works fine unless I touch it. Even if it had good contact I feel the way it sits it will get brushed off of the camera and get lost. Giving 2 stars because the functions work as they are great features, but the hassle of having to jiggle the device if I touch it when I use the camera won't allow me to give it a higher star rating. It needs a better connector.
