Adhered to Textured, Painted Wall
I chose self-adhesive sound tiles rather than spend extra time cutting and peeling two-sided tape. At first I had trouble getting the white paper off the back without taking the clear adhesive layer off with it. The solution I found was to cut a small slit in the paper backing then work my utility knife blade between the layers. Once started the backing came off easily. I put these on painted, textured wall and they stuck fast. There’s no moving them once they are placed. I hammered each segment of each tile with the heel of my hand or my fist two or three times to secure them. I put up some a few days before to see if they would stay adhered, and they seem permanent. I was able to free cut perfectly straight along the seams of the grid - no straight edge needed - in two or three passes with my utility knife. I don’t expect sound proofing, however these high-quality tiles will definitely reduce sound transmission.

Bought two brands and these were superior!
Really are thick and do reduce sound between rooms. I covered a door on both sides with them.

Convenient install!
I've installed a lot of acoustic treatments in the last month. Many acoustic panels come with double-sided sticky tape- This doesn't work well and worse, it takes a long time to affix little pieces of double-sided tape. I've also tried affixing these acoustic treatments using spray-on adhesive. This is a little easier than double-sided tape. These panels are the easiest to install. They come with a sticky backing already installed. It saves a lot of time! The panels are accurately cut, and they look great. They are easy to trim using a razor blade.Honestly, a half-inch of polyester padding will muffle high frequencies a bit, but this is only part of the whole room treatment.I'm happy to recommend this product to you!

Very Nice; User Friendly
These acoustic panels are great. The quality is very good and they are extremely user friendly. The entire backside is sticky, with wax paper covering the adhesive. You simply peel off the backing paper and stick the panels where yo need them. They are also perforated in squares, so these panels are pretty easy to cut down to smaller sizes and different shapes to customize to your needs. I built a wall unit entertainment center that houses a subwoofer. Yes, you audiophiles may want to lecture me about putting a subwoofer in a built-in wall unit, but I'm married and intend to stay that way. Sometimes compromises need to be made. Plus, I have 4 kids, so a subwoofer sitting out in the open would probably get damaged eventually. These acoustic panels are perfect for my application. I was able to stick them to the inside walls of the subwoofer cabinet to eliminate echos and rattle. The process was simple and the end result is fantastic. The sound system sounds great and there is no noticeable subwoofer distortion, nor does the wall unit rattle at all when the subwoofer is firing.

Some of the better budget panels I have used
At .5 inches thick you are going to be a bit limited in the sound absorbing capability however in my experience it's far superior to the cheap 2" foam panels. These actually do provide some sound treatment where those foam panels just really don't do anything at all.The material feels good and I don't expect these to really deteriorate over time. The entire back of each panel has adhesive which should provide better sticking power than just pieces of tape. The cube textured surface just looks fantastic on the wall or ceiling. All in all at this price point these are some of the best budget sound panels I have used.

Good sound dampener plus they look great on the wall
I obtained this product to reduce noise coming out of an enclosure for a CNC router and it is doing a good job. These panels are nice and firm and the grey color matches the product picture perfectly. The dark specks in the product make it look very attractive. I applied it to a plastic surface using Liquid Nails and it has held up now for a couple of weeks so far. It was easy to cut. I would highly recommend this product for sound dampening.
