It is better in the sense of all season use and mileage warranty, however it is a softer belt and apex design for smoother ride and that means less steering response, additionally the Eagle RS-A is a performance tire with stickier rubber for high cornering power but as a result it will not last as long. There are much better choices out there, its best to consult with your local tire store who actually sees what works on different types of vehicles and driving habits, it is a multivariate question only an experienced expert can truly answer best.

You will not know until after you receive them. Every tire is made on different days. The shipper will not be able to choose a date for you, they probably dont even know how to decipher the date on a tire in the warehouse.

How many miles should these tires last?

I have this tires Since 2012 and right now has 72 K miles on them, Still look GOOD. I think will last 2 or 3 years more.

If I used the tires for a day or two can I return them for a full refund?

you cant return a tire once mounted for obvious reasons, it could be compromised or weakened by simply mounting and remounting it, no one else wants your used tire, used tires are unknown in terms of possible internal stresses. You cant tell if a used tire has a defect that is not visible. Some tire stores offer a warranty though on certain major brands when you get it from them.
