can you enlarge the print for someone hard of seeing

Yes you can and it is very easy. When I don't want to put on reading glasses I just increase the size of print. It is really great, and if you don't want to wake anyone , you have the glow light...and you can set how dark you want it. I really do like mine. oops! that is for the nook with the light, but the nook simple is still good.

Does it have an external memory slot

YES. The reason for getting one of these older black model glow lights is the external memory slot in my opinion. The "no" answers must be from people who bought newer models. This model is no longer sold by Barnes & Noble.

Can you turn the glowlight on and off? Thanks in advance for your feedback!

YES. You can certainly turn the light on and off on this older, black model with the memory slot. I'm not sure what they did with later models.

What are the dimensions of the nook simple touch

6.5 x 5.0 x 0.47 inches It is about the same height as a paperback, maybe a little bit wider, and a whole lot thinner.
