Great product. I feel it works on me as it describes. Quality and without the nasty fish-burps throughout the day. I just can't hang with the pricetag. Seemed to spike a number of years ago and it doesn't look like it will ever get down to when I first tried this product.. I would use continuously if the price was more reasonable. I am aware that everything is being inflated.. I just can't hang with the cost, if taken daily as suggested.

I've used Omega 3 Mood along with Nature's Way Alive! (no iron added), 90 Tablets , and had great results in managing my depression and anxiety. This product is also great as an anti-inflammatory agent for anyone who spends a lot of time in the gym. The price and the quality are the best compared to similar products. On Amazon these are $10.83 for 90 softgels, as opposed to $20-25 in the store. I bought these after researching the benefits of Omega 3 oil on mood and after reading "The Chemistry of Joy", and found that scientific data supports that the optimum EPA to DHA ratio is 7:1, which is what this product has (1000mg EPA and 150mg DHA). If the suggested dose does not produce the relief desired, I recommend doubling the dose (taking 4 capsules per day--2 in the morning and two at night). There are studies that suggest that taking 4 grams of EPA over several weeks can significantly relieve depressive symptoms, especially for severe depression. I also took Nature's Bounty Natural 5-HTP/L-5-Hydroxytryptophan, 100mg, 60 Capsules , and it has been very helpful with relieving stress. The great thing about this product is that it contains only Omega 3, which is anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is believed to contribute to depression and many heart-related diseases. Due to our great consumption of corn-based products, American diet is excessively rich in Omega 6 (which promotes inflammation), thereby drastically altering the optimum Omega 6 to Omega 3 ratio. Therefore, Omega 3 supplement is needed to compensate for that difference. I suggest taking it with food, otherwise you might get "fishy" burps, although the taste is tolerable. Some here mentioned that they have trouble swallowing these slightly large softgels, and for that I suggest swallowing these with nodding your head down. In summary, I would highly recommend this product to anyone wishing to relieve stress, depression, and anxiety, as well as to improve their overall health.

I originally started taking these 4 years ago, when I developed depression during pregnancy; I wasn't keen on trying prescription meds, and these really helped me; after about about a week of taking them I started to feel happy and emotionally-balanced. I don't recall why I stopped taking them (price went up, maybe?) but a few months after my baby was born, I developed severe late-onset PPD and went on Zoloft, which also helped me immensely. After 3 years on Zoloft, I am ready to come off of it. I haven't had any bothersome side-effects (except for hanging on to that last 5 pounds), but I need to be able to take my allergy meds (Claritin is the only one that doesn't interact, but it doesn't work for me anymore). I was terrified of going off of Zoloft because I tried to once and the discontinuation syndrome is brutal even under the best of circumstances, but it was either that or deal with crippling allergy-induced migraines. Since Omega 3 Mood worked so well for me in the past, I decided to buy them again and start taking them while I wean off of Zoloft, in hopes that it would take the edge of the withdrawal, and allow me to keep my depression under control going forward. As luck would have it (ha ha) I ended up coming down with a wicked stomach virus, and I couldn't keep anything down for days, so I couldn't take my Zoloft. After the worst of the virus had passed, I started feeling withdrawal symptoms (brain zaps, body ached, nausea, mood swings), and I figured that since I was already feeling like crap, I cut my Zoloft down to the minimum dose and the Omega 3 Mood has definitely made it more bearable.

I was taking another brand of fish oil, and then read that there have been studies that found that this particular ratio of EPA to DHA have been shown in clinical studies to be effective in treating depression. This brand was recommended, and honestly, I never would have bought something like this because I would have thought that anything labeled mood booster was just a marketing gimmick. But I figured I had nothing to lose, so I tried these for a month. The difference was amazing. I could feel the fog lifting. When I switched to another brand I had bought to try, I noticed within less than a week, I felt depressed again. I switched back and immediately felt better again. As someone who has struggled with depression off and on for my entire life, I can say these have changed my life! Side note: everyone’s brain chemistry and body is different, so please consult your doctor before deciding what is right for you.

I was a faithful customer for a few months and have bought about 5 bottles of the Omega 3 supplements. The last 2 bottles I received had orange splotches on the pills. I contacted Country Life customer support and their service was less than ideal. Will not be buying from them again
