Golden Age of Hollywood Paper Dolls (Dover Paper Dolls)

What a fun and fabulous set of paper dolls! I'm a huge fan of classic movie stars and I was thrilled to see so many of favorites here including Lana Turner, Marilyn Monroe, Rita Hayworth, and Jean Harlow. Gregg Nystrom is a very talented artist and not only do these dolls look beautiful but they also look realistic. The colorful clothes and glittery costumes are fabulous too. This would make a great collectors item for a movie fan and makes a perfect gift. It's also a great way to introduce kids to these classic stars. Now I'm waiting for Gregg's next book of dolls!!

Well, I should say Handsome. Aside from THAT, Gregg's art is uniquely his; One of those artists whose work you know as soon as you see it. And what makes him and his art special? The likenesses of the stars are excellent!...every one! His fabric stylings are unique as he may incorporate special papers twined with his paints and pencils. These dolls are sexy, winsome, lovely, enchanting, enticing and more. The costumes are just right for the dolls and for the way we love to see Gregg's art. I bought this book on Amazon. Oh, Dover has added shine and sparkle in quite the appropriate locations too. Very nice!

I bought these for my mother while in quarantine. She always said she loved paper dolls as a child. These are perfect. And, the faces of the actresses look very life-like. Some have glitter and some are even embossed beautifully. Definitely worth the money!

I love the art work and the actresses & dresses chosen to be in this book. The glitter is covered with a coating so that it will not come off - I love that! My only reason for giving it 4 stars is because of the introduction it states "several publicity photos included". As there are none I am a little confused by that. But still totally worth the purchase.

I had NO IDEA that you could even still get paper dolls...imagine my delight when I found this book of Hollywood's glamorous ladies to occupy my time and attention during the pandemic! They are beautifully executed and even accented with environmentally friendly glitter (encased in an embossing medium so the glitter doesn't flake off...thank you for that). I think we're all finding ourselves with a little extra time on our hands, and I've been finding happiness in nostalgic things that were enjoyable when I was younger. I was so thrilled to find this...but I can't bring myself to cut them out and actually play with them because they're too pretty. I think instead I'll use it as a coffee table book and buy another one to cut out and play with. Thank you so much!

Fantastic nostalgia of the gorgeous gowns of the golden age of Hollywood. Beautiful book and great fun.

A beautiful collection of paper dolls. I used to collect these books when I was a child. Then I would cut them up but leave them intact now. Mr. Nystrom captures the elegance of Hollywood in it's glory days!

It has been a long time since I have owned a paperdoll book of this quality. Gregg has done a fantastic job with his artwork and the beautiful colors and glitter simply enhance the beauty that is there. If you are considering this purchase you WON'T regret it. The picture doesn't do justice to this book. Am looking forward to the next work from this fantastic artist!

Love these, they are beautiful. Had to wait a little while but it was worth the wait. Would recommend it.

Gregg Nystrom has created a very nice book. Anything by Dover is usually of the highest quality and this is no exception. There are 16 paper dolls representing glamorous Hollywood stars of the 30's, 40's & 50's. From well known like Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe to lesser known like Gina Lollobrigida and Jean Harlow. Each doll is accompanied by a dress or costume made famous by a movie or from a publicity shoot and all of them are gorgeous. A few caveats I have I that I don't think the glitter actually did anything for the book or the images, and I wish there had been some small description of the star, the movie and the dress or costume depicted. Otherwise I am very happy with the quality (crisp cardstock for every page) and the beauty of the book. The value also is very good and look all books I purchase it is not (imo) meant for children. There is no easy punchout pages, they have to all be carefully cutout, also I do not think many of these gowns are interchangeable with other dolls in the same book.
