The Boss Is Back With a Retro Tinged Album
Before I start my review, I thought I’d add some context:Covid lockdown was the inspiration for this album. We all had extra time on our hands. Diana decided that she’d make the most of hers by spending time in her home studio. This is the first album where Miss Ross has co-written the majority of the songs.Back to the album:This is an album of appreciation and love - Diana clearly stated that. The title track is just gorgeous. The vintage Motown vein is lovely. This was Diana’s message to her fans.“If The World Just Danced” is such a bright and breezy tune that prompts you to move your feet. This tune was the #1 song on Radio 2’s Airplay Charts! If you look at Diana’s studio albums in the 90s (Force Behind the Power, Take Me Higher and Every Day is a New Day) you’ll notice that each set is an eclectic blend of killer dance tracks, mid tempo numbers and ballads. Diana’s followed the same theme with this album. Some have said that the love songs are a bit schmalzy. Of course , they’re sentimental, but they’re a reflection of Diana’s heartbeat during these turbulent times. This clearly isn’t “The Boss” or “Diana” for 2021, as the world is in a different place.Instead I’d say that listening to this a spiritual experience. All Is Well (reassurance)In Your Heart (gorgeous mid tempo love song)Just In Case (I can picture Diana singing this to her children and grandchildren)Let’s Do It (another gorgeous groove)I Still Believe…holy smoke, Miss Ross! This is a full circle groove!Tomorrow…another retro disco tinged gem that has Diana singing in a lower register.Thank You shot straight into the U.K. Top 10 album charts. The Boss is back!

Fab album
I love this. It has been years since Diana put out an album, but this is a winner. All good tracks, but Ross at her best are the the first 3--Thank you ( In the mode of the Surrender album 1970), If the world just danced(such a great dance track written by Ross herself), and All is Well ( Ross gentle like I'm still waiting but spiritual and comforting in these worrying times.)I hope to see her live in 22 over in Cardiff. An amazing artist that still gets all her records played 60 yrs on!

Thank You for New Music
It's been 22 years since Diana last released an album of new songs and I really believed we'd never see this release. The taster tracks Thank You and If the World just danced blew me away and the other songs on this collection are pretty strong to. Of course Diana sounds older but this is a fine return to top form and has deservedly given Diana Ross her first UK top ten studio album since 1995

Miss Ross doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel!
… thank you very much! A lovely and varied album. Miss Ross is on top form. A bit of auto tune here and there for some reason but all in all a great album with lots of little nods here and there to her amazing legacy! Beautifully produced and quite slick. Yes, it could have been more exciting (which is one of the main criticisms in the press) and the lyrics are very schmaltzy but us fans are grateful and happy and say THANK YOU to this living legend!
