Once installed, it works perfectly!
I can rewire outlets in my home, new lighting fixtures and generally have an understanding of how home power works. So I went into this with a bit of confidence that I could do this. The instructions in the box were very poor, and so after looking at my manual pool timer and this one, the wires didn't match up. I ended up searching the brand name wiring instructions on Youtube and found a video from the manufacturer that goes through the wiring step by step. This is what saved me. If you know the terminology being used (power vs load vs neutral vs ground), you're set. Once I wired my pool pump and got the jumper wire in place, the device turned on first try, connected to my wifi and powered my pool pump. I couldn't be happier with how this turned out. We'll see how this holds up in Texas sun and heat, but so far I'm very pleased with the performance! Backwashing is that much more simple now that I don't have to walk back and forth to my control box and my filter to turn it on and off. Plus, I can adjust my schedule from in the house and turn the pump on and off manually from my phone. The app itself is very straight forward and I have no complaints. It did what it was supposed to do and all of the scheduling worked the first try. Wifi performance was my biggest concern. I don't have an outdoor wifi radio, and my pool pump is right at the range where my phone won't stay connected to the Wifi all the time. Even the app tells me my Wifi performance is "poor" and the device should be relocated, but it has a 100% track record of responding to every single command I give it, so I'm not going to make any changes. Overall, I would highly recommend this. I'll likely buy a second for backup, but I'm just through the moon excited to have a bit more flexibility and convenience with my pool pump!

Error in the manual, Smart Life or SmartLife APP?
This timer works great but for one little hitch. The manual says to install the Smart Life app on your phone and then gives instructions for connecting the timer to the app. I tried several times and could not get a connection and the instructions did not make sense. Then I remembered that when installing the Smart Life app there was a SmartLife (no space) app listed also. I deleted the Smart Life app and installed the SmartLife app and it worked fine. This timer replaced an older SURAIELEC timer without WiFi and they use exactly the same wiring and outer box so my installation was very easy. I put this new timer into the old box and reconnected the wires. The schedule configuration is very straight forward and extremely flexible. I'm very please except for the Smart Life and SmartLife error in the manual.

Great high current IFTTT switch compatible with ring and other IFTTT
Does what it is supposed to do. Reliable. Updating the review, as I am seeing a lot of misinformation in the questions about this device. IFTTT is a standard remote control API that allows the device to interact with other IFTTT devices. One question being asked is "can a ring camera trigger this relay?" and the majority of the answered are WRONG, including the seller. There are two IFTTT integrations specific to this relay and ring. Ring can trigger this relay in your IFTTT integrations, and it can also trigger a scene from your IFTTT integrations. Presumably a scene is a complex of multiple device settings, but not having any scenes I shouldn't say too much about what I don't know much about. But the point is this is an IFTTT relay. This is NOT a timer by itself. It is a wifi timer. That means if wifi is out, it is no longer a timer... But really it is an internet timer, as if wifi is working but internet is down, it is still not a timer. The timer function in the smartphone app is a cloud function, so if you can't get to the cloud, then your timer will not work. This is strictly an internet dependent device, without internet there is only the on/off button on the device itself. This isn't a bad thing, but it IS a limitation you need to be aware of. The app does not talk to the relay, the app talks to the cloud, and the cloud sends the on/off signals to the relay. This is important to understand. For example, my ISP likes to do maintenance at 12:10 am. So starting at 12:10 on any given night, the Internet can go out for as long as 4 hours... Sometimes one night in a 6 month period, sometimes every day for three weeks as they do upgrades or have technical issues. So If the timer is on something critical to life, you better have a plan for mitigating an internet outage (better, not use the internet for life critical things). This is true for any IFTTT appliances, no internet = no IFTTT.

Easy to install - solid so far
To put in context: I went through two Sonoff POWR3 units for controlling my water heater, but both melted for some reason. So I went into using this product with some reservations. However, my initial experience has been very positive. The unit looks pretty nice, albeit a little light due to the plastic construction. I'm not going hold that against this product because this is a Wifi product and the wireless signal needs to penetrate the housing. One thing I really like is the fact that the main "controller" piece inside is removable and is snapped in, which makes wiring much easier because one has to deal with the thick 10 gauge wires. The mounting options are quite sufficient to keep the unit secure on my wall. The included user manual is plenty clear, with diagrams, and include proper jumpers to allow hookups and connection in matter of minutes (less than an hour including mounting and all). I did use a laser thermometer to make sure that the unit does not run hot (given my past experience with the melted Sonoff POWR3); I did not see any abnormal temperature. Note that I'm not using any of the features provided by the app because I'm using Home Assistant to automate my home, so integration with Alexa was sufficient for me to automate this device. So far, I'm happy with this purchase, but will keep an eye out to see if this thing will last. It's a conditional recommendation from me, pending an updated review in a few months.

Works great for 1 year
I purchased this 14 months ago. I use it to automatically turn my pool pump on at a certain time every morning amd turn it off at a certain time every evening. It was also a great luxury when it was storming out. I could just open the app on my phone and turn it off, vs going outside in the rain and lightning to turn it off. After 11 months, the switch stopped working off wifi and i have to be within 5' to operate the switch with my phone. I tried Uninstalling the app, reinstalling it. Removing the pump from the app and installing it again. Tried clearing cashe and data all to no avail. I then proceeded to contact the company in hopes of some assistance in fixing the switch. Their response was, it was out of warranty and they could not replace it and offered a discount on another product. They offered no assistance. I never asked for a new product, i was hoping they might give me an idea on how to fix it. Hopefully i can find a product that is better quality and will last more than 1 year.

Felicidades.
