Q: How thick a table can it clamp ? Would it clamp ok to a round table ?

It's not stable, i only used 4 times and it broke! No refund either

Yes it does but i wouldn't bother purchasing, i used mine 4 times and it broke, the screw kept spinning and wasn't stable. I can't even contact the company!

Q: What is the main Poles diameter please?

Poor quality, arrived damaged and to date I have received NO refund. Avoid this product.

Q: Can it be placed diagonally across the table so I can seat people at each end or does it have to go straight across from one side to the other?

It attaches each end of the table, so the bar would be in the way. Unless the end of the table can seat 2 at each end, then the bar will be in the middle.
