Well-built heater at very affordable price
This Inkbird Plus heater arrived just after the day I became aware that my Eheim Jager heater is mulfunction (stays stuck on). First impression when I unboxed the heater is it feels like a quality, well-built heater in my hands. Titanium tube sure feels better than the glass tube ones, it's shatter proof as well. I have been using this heater for roughly two weeks now in my reef aquarium and here's what I can say about it:Pro:-Really good value for money for this type of heater-Titanium tube, shatter-proof, sleek looking heater-The length of this heater is significantly shorter than my previous heater so I could easily put it in my sump if I wanted to-The heater is black so it blends into the black background of my aquarium well-LED temperature display right at the top of the heater, much better than small numbers on temperature dial on other heaters-The LED display gives you an error code when the heater is not fully submerged and stops heating water-Temperature can easily be adjusted using the external controller, much more convenient than having to reach into your aquarium to turn the temperature dial-Accurate temperature, pretty much matching with the temperature probe that I have-One year warrantyCon:A LED temperature display on the external controller would be a nice feature to have on this heater. If I were to put this heater into my sump I might find it a little hard to see the temperature display on the heater. It may have only been just over two weeks since I started using this heater but I can say that so far I absolutely love this heater, from price and built quality to the accuracy of it. If you're shopping for a new heater I highly recommended this heater.

Compact Design and Precise Temperature Control
The media could not be loaded. I’ve been in the aquarium hobby for a few years now and I have to say that the InkBird Plus 300w heater is by far the most reliable heater that I have used over the years!! I use this heater on my 75gl Saltwater Frag tank and it maintains a constant temperature of 78 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition to great temperature control, it’s compact design is perfect if you have limited space in your display tank or sump (I placed mine on the skimmer compartment and fits perfectly). Another great feature in this heater is the digital display that gives you an accurate reading of the temperature of your tank (instead of figuring it out like other brands designs). As a safety measurement, I use the InkBird WiFi ITC-308 temperature controller and both the heater and thermostat are perfectly accurate!! I highly recommend this heater to any hobbyist for saltwater and freshwater aquariums!

Malfunctioned and cooked my fish
I bought this item in June of 2022 and everything was fine up until overnight. There was no hint that anything was wrong and it read the water temp was 72 degrees fahrenheit. Somewhere between 8:30pm Sunday to 6:15am this morning it malfunctioned and overheated the water. The temp display was off. I walked up to feed them and made the horrific discovery that 3 of my 6 fish were dead. When I open the lid I could feel the heat on the glass and the water. I have since lost 2 more fish after moving them to cooler water. The 1 survivor is questionable. I will never buy this type of item from Amazon or this company ever again. 😭

Works great, a few parts kind of cheap feeling.
Ive been using this heater for several weeks now and it does a good job of keeping my temperatures steady. I dont have a controller hooked up on this tank to monitor the temperature but everytime I check the temp on the tank with a thermometer it matches. The heater is incredibly easy to set, you just press a button until the desired set temp is displayed. The tube itself feels well built, however there were a few parts of the heater that feel cheap. The control box that has the button is cheap feeling, there is also a little black cover that goes on where the wires enter the heater and it doesnt fit on very well. When i first recieved the heater i though that little cover piece on mine had broke off but I was able to get it back on, but it doesnt feel very secure, it would probably feel better if they would've just glued it on. Both of these complaints are pretty insgnificant and not surprising for a heater that is a budget heater. It ecspecially doesnt matter because once you set it up you will probably never touch either of these parts again.I wish the heater were slightly shorter to make it easier to fit into my sump but its a reasonalble length. I have shorter ones, but ive also had considerably longer heaters at this wattage. Before purchasing make sure the heater will fit where you plan on placing it.Overall I like it well enough that I'll be buying a second one for my 125g reef tank.

Does what it's supposed to do.
I've had my Inkbird 300w aquarium heater for a little over a month now, and I have to say, I'm impressed so far.The price was great. No issues with the fit and finish. The heater adjuster is easy to use, having only (1) button. Just press the button until it lands on your desired temp. Not sure it could be any easier than that.I've used the heater in several different sized tanks. It's spent time in a 10G freshwater tank when it's regular heater died. It's spent several weeks in a 20G saltwater QT/hospital tank, and its been in a 40G saltwater tank since then. It has held the programmed temperature in all three tanks without issue. it does not overshoot the set temp even in smaller tanks like the 10G and 20G I used it in. For the money, this heater is great. It works much better than any of the previous heaters I've used. It does what it's supposed to do and for a great price. I liked my 300W heater so much I decided to buy another (smaller) model for the 10G freshwater tank.

Affordable and Reliable heater!!
Upgraded from my Hydor heater as I know glass heaters are just a ticking time bomb. After being so impressed with the Inkbird controller I learned they made a heater the INKBIRD PLUS and it’s 1/3 the price of most competitors. Picked this up on Amazon for a little over $20 with the coupon code supplied. Right off the bat it feels quality in your hands and I like the compact size and digital read out. Fits inside my Sump better. Super happy with the purchase I would recommend.
