Backlight Bleed, Black Crush and Dithering Throughout
Just purchased this monitor - let my summarize, this thing has a ton of issues:-Priced WAY TOO HIGH!-These pics are with brightness at 42-45.-Nearly 11ms GTG vice the advertised 4ms-Worst dithering and black crushing of any monitor I've used - HDR-400 just pixelates and cannot fully color the scene in gaming, I'm going to post several pictures during a review on Amazon, where I bought it. Very noticeable when playing any type of games or watching videos.-Absolutely unreal back-light bleed, flash-lighting etc., just takes away from the overall screen - look at the screenshots I've included.-ZERO adjustments in HDR mode, NONE-ZERO, hilarious - the monitor has no way to adjust sharpness, so when you enable HDR it sets sharpness to about 70 or so, and you have no way to turn it down, looks horrible - grainy and overly pixelated.-With the brightness over 550, should have shot more for HDR600, vice 400.-Only an 8-bit panel and with the EXTREME dithering, seems to almost like 6bit +FRC, highly unlikely, though when you see the screenshots, you'll immediately see the problem.+Fully supports Xbox One X - 1440p @120hz with HDR 400, or can upscale to 4K as well.+DP 1.4 and two HDMI 2.0+, absolutely can't stand when manufactures make one of the HDMI inputs 1.4, gimps the unit - makes it non purchasable, for me. EVERY monitor in 2019 should be 2.0 spec or higher, it's backwards compatible for any lower spec, just them trying to squeeze a few dollars in savings per unit by putting a cheaper and inferior spec input, kudos for ASUS for not doing that.+Exceptional stand, easily one of the best I've used, zero wobble.+Great packaging, very smart and well protected design.+Looks good - turned off.

If you can get it for a reasonable price, you cant go wrong
Monitor has a great deal of real estate, good build quality. Picture adjustments are OK until they get locked due to features you enable. It is not as fast as a MSI laptop monitor I have. The colors can be washed out due to back light. HDR is OK,after calibration picture is OK. For the price. I would expect a bit more. You can hook up a 4k source though its reduced to native resolution.Seeing I bought this used, I am happy. I would never pay retail for this monitor, just isnt worth it.

A work of art and great hardware!
This product is worthwhile. It arrived with no dead pixels, and was tested for hours with no apparent issues.A warning, however....Amazon shipped this to me in no box. It came unprotected and had tears in the cosmetic box with damage to the styrofoam. Thankfully, those pros at ASUS ROG packed this thing in a full mold styrofoam and bound it to prevent shifting. If you are going to order it, you might want to check and see if Amazon has resolved this issue. I would imagine this thing would get stolen if left at your front door. The short and dirty:Amazing monitor, worth your money.Amazon needs to pack it within a box to protect the cosmetic box and to protect against damage during shipping.

I'm in love with this monitor
I ran 24" monitors for over a decade, and this thing is amazing, So immersive. Picture quality and colors are far from what I could imagine. I'm giving it 4 stars cause there's two things that annoy me. First is that there's no button to quick switch inputs, and having multiple computers, it gets annoying to use the OSD menu and joystick to swap them. The other thing is that, but the sides of the screen look like they are curving inwards? The farther I move my head from that side, the more it seems to curve in. But when I stand right in front of that side it's perfect. IDK if it's an optical illusion or if this is normal in curved monitors, it's my first one, but you would expect it to curve out, not in! Maybe it's my brain or something but it's a bit annoying when I notice it. :)Other than that, great buy.

Went Through 7 of These - Awful Quality Control on XG32VQR
ASUS should be ashamed of the quality control of these screens, I have returned 6 of them and settled for the 7th... but it's still not great.CONS:The main issue is the banding on the finish, if you look at the attached picture, there are horizontal lines across the screen that are very noticeable and distracting when viewing solid colors. This defect is splotchy across the screen with some areas having it and some areas being free of it. ONE of the 7 screens did not have this issue at all, so it's possible to get a good example, unfortunately my good one had dead pixels right in the center of the screen. The rest of the screens I received had a mixture of defect pixels and banding.Lucky for ASUS, there aren't really any other good options for 32" 1440p 144hz VA screens with a wide color gamut range. There are options that use this same panel (LSM315DP01), Samsung C32HG70, AOC AGON AG322QC4, MSI Optix MAG321CQR. Only the Samsung has the same 125% coverage but has PWM for brightness under 100%. The others seem to have less color coverage and slower response times(?).One other complaint I have is the backlight bleed and consistency. It's all over the place and so distracting that I can't watch letterboxed movies in a dark room, it ruins the experience. This is true for all 7 of the monitors I've tried. From what I hear, it's an issue on pretty much all curved VA screens, just difficult to get correct. My ASUS PB328Q by comparison has perfectly uniform backlight, it's dead even all around.Viewing angles aren't that great, but whatever, it's a computer monitor.PROS:The color range is noticeably more vivid than my PB328Q, the reds and blues pop especially deep and makes for a more engaging and cinematic experience. The color saturation approaches OLED thanks to the Quantum Dot / QLED technology.144hz - Once you've tried it it's harder to go back, even just moving the mouse around feels more engaging and responsive. FPS games are much better with it as well. Ghosting isn't bad at all in my perception.Black levels of VA are best in class, I'll take uneven backlight with richer blacks over IPS glow and washed out greys.Brightness is great too, that's the best part of the HDR400 is the backlight is quite a bit brighter than the standard XG32VQ. (I also tried two XG32VQ's and one had a very dim backlight and the other was just as bright as the XG32VQR... don't know what was with that.)So I'll begrudgingly keep this monitor because frankly there aren't really any other good options with similar offerings. Can't wait for micro-LED technology to hit monitors in a few years.
