Is the bottom of drain board flat or does it have "legs"

It is flat. I placed a folded dish cloth at back end to create a small hill so water will drain better.

It does not have a plastic smell. It has no odor.

Is the 17.2 the length where the drain lip is? I dont understand why most the drain boards seem to have drain lip on side.

This is one of the few I found where one of the narrow ends (~12.5") is the drain end. So, from narrow end to narrow end, it is 17.2" long.

It’s weird to love a dish drain tray this much, but after too many other dish mats getting slimy and gross, cracking, staining countertops and being difficult to clean, this is a dream come true! I use a metal dish drainer and it fits perfectly in this tray. The plastic is sturdy, it is smooth and super easy to clean, the drain lip easily goes over the edge of the sink. Win!
