DEWALT D55166 6 gallon Horizontal Portable Electric Air Compressor

Works perfectly for all my needs. I like the portability the wheels offer. My previous compressor had to be carried surround and was heavy and awkward, and only had 4 gallon capacity.

Had this compressor for several years now and has worked fine for around the house usage. However for the amount of use it has not held up very well. I have had to replace the capacitor and it worked for awhile but back to the same issue again. Again I only use this a handful of times per year airing up tires or blowing out filters, nothing stressful on the compressor. Not impressed with this item.

This compressor is a good quality product for the price. I purchased it to use for tire filling and occasional light duty air nailer use. I have other compressors for more intense uses such as abrasive blasting, framing nailers, etc. It seems to be well made and is from a reputable company that stands behind their warranty.

Quick disconnect was broken off when I opened box, appears that this is not the first review with this issue...does not start when cold! Take about 20 times to get the motor to stay on! I am a Dewalt fan but disappointed with compressor.

Pump works fine however oil vent/dip stick combo is cheap plastic and arrived completely shattered. Also the wheel mounting is the silliest thing possible. The wheel are simply slapped on with bolts are not very stable because they stick out wide to clear the tank. The wheel hubs (bolts) are threaded with locking nut so as you roll it one wheel locks up while the other tries to unscrew itself.

I really like this little compressor. Runs my stapler and nail gun and doesn't run very much. Small enough and light enough to move around outside. Good purchase for me.

Unfortunately, It didn't work when we received it and had to take it to a Dewalt service center. Was disappointed because I have many Dewalt products and have always trusted the brand. Just picked it up today and hope it will work well going forward.

Looks it is holding the pressure and every thing works well. The first one was sent to me used and was returned, the second one the tank pressure gage was not working and discharged air was blocked and was reurned.

It works great. Happy with the machine. Perfect for what I needed for.
