Star Wars Bantha Costume for Pets

Including some pics of our 60lb Doberman mix thinly tolerating this for trick or treat. Honestly, I have no idea what size dog this costume is supposed to fit. The headpiece was too small and the chest straps were too big. But it’s so instantly recognizable that we made it work with some safety pins, and got lots of compliments and laughs on Halloween.

Okay, so the costume was so cute! But my SMALL DOG had trouble fitting the large size costume. The head piece would not tie as it could not stretch all the way around my dog's head. Also, the Tusken Raider kept slipping off to the side even when we tightly secured the costume around my pup. Three stars! GREAT LOOKING COSTUME, but maybe up the size chart?

My dog is a terrier mix. She's about 15 lbs and a size M in doggy clothing, and this costume was way too big on her.As many product reviews stated, this item was very poorly executed. The head piece kept falling over and twisting around, making it difficult for my dog to walk. The "rider" is soooooooo heavy, it kept falling over sideways (like a drunk) and kept startling my dog to the point that she stopped walking all together and wouldn't move until I removed the costume entirely. No amount of pinning would keep this rider upright because it's too top-heavy (seriously, the rider's head weighs as much as a grapefruit). I spent almost an hour pinning / adjusting / readjusting the costume on my dog, and she wore it for a total of 10 minutes, which is the time it took to walk from home to down the block, because we stopped every 3-steps to fix the rider. Total waste of my time and money.I really wish this costume had worked out because I'm a huge Star Wars fan. It's a very clever idea, but just poor in product design / execution. Unless you have a bigger dog ( like a boxer or pitt) and are willing to invest in some time sewing / pinning to reinforce the rider, don't bother ordering this item.

Saw this a while ago during a Halloween promo, but I don't have a dog. We do a reindeer pass for Xmas and the price was right to pull the trigger. It worked out great for a Star Wars friend. It was WAY too big for my little reindeer but I was able to double wrap the straps around and velcro so it was pretty secure. I would say it fits a medium sized animal.PROS: The Tusken Raider is spot on. Well done complete with his feet sewn into the foot holsters and his hands on the reigns. The velcro straps are well designed and close tight.CONS: As with other reviews, the Tusken Raider didn't seem to be attached to the saddle in the front. Not sure if this was defective or by design, but it is resolved with some safety pins. Also, as noted by a friend... the Bantha does not have a beard.

This did not fit my Pomeranian well. Head piece would not stay on and rider was too heavy/ did not sit in an upright position. Too large to fit around dogs torso. It is very cute and a great idea if it had just fit properly.

My dog has a super weird body shape, big body, small head, and very short legs. He's about 40 pounds, but a rescue resembling a Dachshund/Rottweiler. From the other reviews complaining that the costume headpiece was too small and the saddle/body part was too big, I figured this would be perfect for my dog, and it WAS! With minimal alterations - I shortened one of the belly straps for a snug fit, it fit him perfectly. The costume is well made, and looked fantastic on him. The rider was a little on the heavy side - so making sure the belly strap was snug was key. Tons of compliments on this from friends and family. Great costume for dogs with big chests and small heads.

This Bantha costume was pretty amazing, once I figured out how to appropriately strap on the hat portion (but even then it did not fit correctly, the hat size is definitely made for much smaller dogs) and with having the hat fit correctly, the Tuskan raider was able to sit upright on my dog's back. I was able to get the hat to stay by tying one bandanna on to the straps to make them longer so that it would allow the hat to be tightly (but not too tight) hold on my dog's head. I have an Alaskan Malamute/German Shepard mix, she weighs roughly 85 lbs and this costume did fit her torso and neck area. The Velcro straps were long enough that I could adjust them so they fit her (sorta) correctly.The hat was the only major issue in that it was definitely too small for her large cranium. All in all, I knew what I was getting into after reading all the reviews, this is definitely not a "one size fits all" kind of outfit. I would not highly recommend it, but do buy if you don't mind fixing it up a bit.

Ok.. so its not a "real" pet so I knew it wasn't going to be a perfect fit - and it was WAY too big but with a little creativity I made it work (despite a very un-co-operative sand person) long enough for a photo. However not all pets sit still ..I took a star off before I couldn't choose the size, and it was not clear what NS was.Over-all I'm loving my Bantha-Llama - Bought this as a laugh, and there has been many XD

The costume arrived very quickly and it is sso fun. We have to adjust the headpiece but we have a fat head bulldog.

The sand person on top doesn't stay put too well, it's too top-heavy. Cute costume, but doesn't fit well (and I have the same breed of dog as in the picture).
