I really like this gimbal. Very cool technology.Interesting automated shooting modes.

To set the record straight, I have interacted with pretty much all the major gimbals out there and I personally own Hohem gimbal X2 as well. So, my review is based on my personal experience.This is my second Hohem V2. I really loved the AI auto-tracking feature this had to offer and really was looking forward to having one of these to use for my live streaming and stuff. The first one that I ordered was a defective piece as the motor kept getting heated up within the first couple of minutes and the gimbal would turn off. I was following all the instructions on the user manual and was just using a regular Iphone 12 pro. Since that was unusable, I ordered the second one, thinking it was purely a defective piece.This one came in yesterday and since then I am trying to really like it, but unfortunately, I am not satisfied with the V2.- AI tracking works only when you move very slowly, like if you are cooking or something like that which requires you to move only a few steps. If you move faster, or if you bend down to pick something up and the AI sensor loses you, it won’t pick it back up. You would have to do the ok gesture again for it to resume tracking you. Similarly, if you tilt your phone from landscape to portrait or vice versa, it stops tracking.- The movements are not at all smooth for V2, when compared to X2. X2 is way smoother and moves without making any mechanical sounds as this V2 does.- The battery life is more in X2 compared to V2.- V2 is a bit heavier in X2 as well.Overall, personally using X2 and V2, I would prefer the hohem’s X2 over V2 for a gimbal. It is cheaper, lighter and works flawlessly. The only thing missing is the AI tracker, and that was the only feature I was looking forward to with this one. Unfortunately, it did not meet up to my expectations. A good breakthrough in gimbals though with this one. I’ll definitely wait for the next hohems product and hope they improve the flaws with this one.

First thoughts:I believed I would get confused quickly with the instructions, the app, the tutorial, memorizing the gestures and which button to press for which function. After a little practice however, I felt much more comfortable and began to realize how much more I can do for my videos now.Usage:The stabilization is phenomenal. It is intuitive and I even forget about it and realized I was moving normally while filming and walking around.The time lapse is great and I’m constantly looking for more places to shoot more of them. Everything works as it should and I’m still surprised seeing the result at times. The response is quick and intuitive. If you hold the gimble down to follow movement on the ground or to film yourself walking, it automatically flips and reorientates itself for that. The face and object tracking are so spot on. The battery life is great. I used the gimble a lot for the first two days I had it and it was still at around 70% charged.Add-on tips.I added an extendable selfie stick which I screwed into the bottom and I can get some amazing angles with it now. I strongly suggest everyone do this.I also got a mic receiver which is very small and light and plugs into the lightning port of my cellphone. It really made a difference for the audio portion and the gimble had no trouble handling it. I just had to rebalance the phone on it.Conclusion:If you’re even considering getting one of these I would say pay the little bit extra and go for this one. It is well worth it. I had a little bit of trouble locking it down after use and it took a few tries to become proficient with it but that was my only issue. To use it just be kind to it by properly balancing your phone so you don’t overwork it just like you should do for any gimble. Oh, and remove the case on your phone. Don’t worry, the gimble secures it real well and it won’t fall off.Great job, Hohem!

Overall it’s a good cellphone gimbal. But there are a few shortcomings (bugs) found in the Hohem app when used with my iPhone X. Software bugs are possibly fixed in the next releases, I hope so.1. Turn “Mirror Selfie” off, the effect only appears in Photo mode but not in Video mode.Note that the effect appears in both Photo and Video modes when use the native iPhone camera app after “Mirror Selfie” is turned off in iPhone’s Settings. I prefer to turn “Mirror Selfie” off so that characters and numbers won’t appear in awkward way (i.e. mirrored image).2. Set video quality to 4K@60fps for the rear camera, this setting will be reverted to the default setting afterwards once the selfie mode is used.That’s because the front camera doesn’t support 4K. But when use the rear camera again, I will have to change the default setting to 4k@60fps again. This is really annoying. Note that the native iPhone camera app doesn’t have such issue. The custom setting for video quality stays all the way regardless the selfies mode has been used.3. Unexpected nonstop photo takings.I encountered a few times of unexpected nonstop “photo taking” as following: In selfie mode, with face tracking on (but AI is not turned on), the front camera counts down and takes a photo, then displays a message saying “Photo was saved successfully”. This repeats until I manually exit the app. I don’t know how to intentionally reproduce this behavior.

Man kann auch ein Smartphone umgedreht montieren und dieses trackt einen dann mit den besseren Kamerasensoren auf der Rückseite.Die eigentliche Stabilisierungsleistung ist sehr gut (siehe Video). Das Gerät ist extrem kompakt und leicht, die Akkuleistung bringt mich locker durch den Tag, auch bei aktivierter AI.Schwächen:Gestensteuerung unzuverlässig, Software stürzt auf S10 gerne ab wenn man Pfade für das Motion Timelapse vorgeben will.Insgesamt ist das Gimbal derzeit ohne Konkurrenz, dank dem AI-System hat man viel, viel mehr kreative Freiräume und ist nicht mehr so an die Software des Herstellers gebunden, bzw. kann man sogar andere Kameratypen einsetzen!

Bon stabilisateurBon stabilisateur aussi bien pour les smartphones que pour tout autre appareil du genre Gopro et ce grâce à sa caméra qui permet d’effectuer des fonctions sans avoir à utiliser un logiciel sur votre smartphone.En effet vous pouvez déclencher une photo, une vidéo et même passer en mode portrait ou paysage par un simple geste devant la caméra qui est sur le stabilisateur.Avec la camera du stabilisateur vous pouvez actionner le suivi intelligent d’une personne ou d’un objet.Même si le mode d’emploi est en Anglais sa prise en main est intuitif, plus facile que certaine marque.Le seul défaut pour moi c’est le manque d’ergonomie de la poigné elle est droite et n’a pas une bonne prise en main comme avec la DJI.

Once you have fixed your phone (I’m using an ordinary iPhone 12) the gimbal pretty much automates everything else making filming an incredibly smooth and effortless experience.The camera is stabilised and the motors help it rotate smoothly. Face tracking sensors ensure that the focus is perfect when there are people in shot. When you film as you move, the gimbal keeps your device steady and there’s none of the shaky hand syndrome.This gimbal is a really portable device that allows you to turn your hand-held filming into something approaching a professional experience eve for a novice film-maker, keeping your images steady and free from shaking or blurring. It’s fantastic for vlogging or on the go video capturing.This nifty gadget comes in a cool box, robustly packed. There a two pieces, the main motor with a fold-down head and a screw in tripod with rubber feet. It comes with a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a soft carrying case.Used with an app that you download, it is all simple to use. The Hohem app has excellent step by step video tutorials to help you get started, too. The gimbal itself feels solid without being too heavy to use – it comes in about 265g. Connection is via Bluetooth and once your phone is clamped by the gimbal and connected it is ready to begin work.But there’s more! This gadget also has amazing gesture control! This makes vlogging easy as you can start, stop and pause filming using gestures. You can also use hand gestures to change the camera view from landscape to portrait.There are different lighting modes and you can also use different modes to create the impact you need. Time lapse, slow motion, dynamic filming and rotation are all options and in the gimbal’s Inception mode the camera will rotate from 180 degrees through to 270 degrees, making for really impressive shots.I’m still playing with this beautiful device, working out everything it can do, but one thing I am sure about. This is an exceptional piece of quality kit that is worth every penny.

ジンバルが欲しいと思い、どのメーカーのどの製品が良いのかなどを調べずに、評価が高かったこの製品を購入しました。コントローラーでスマホを上下左右に動かすのは難しく、かなり練習しないといけないように感じます。このレビューを記入している日に他社のジンバルを購入して使ってみましたが、そちらはスマホのコントロールがしやすかったので改善の必要がある点だと思います。また、可動域の関係でグリップを前傾させないようにしないといけないため、ローアングル撮影に難があります。顔を認識して追跡する機能もややぎこちなさを感じます。ローアングル必須のペットの撮影には向かないため、他社製を購入してそちらを使うことにしました。かといって、この製品が悪いというわけではありません。若干の難しさはありますが、初めてジンバルを使った時の感動はありました。

Cela fonctionne déjà comme un stabilisateur, mais c'est surtout mieux pour l'éclairage si vous voulez faire de la micro couverture ou du blog, ce qui est vraiment ce dont vous avez besoin, et ça marche !La qualité de la lumière est très bonne et pas trop dure, ce qui est un plus, mais malheureusement on ne peut pas régler l'autre intensité lumineuse, qui est un peu trop froide à mon goût.
