Very good quality product
Very good product, was easy to install and worked perfectly. Installed onto a 5 Ton Rheem unit about 10 yrs old.

Reliable Spec Part—Returned After Fan Upgrade, Still Worth Considering for Legacy AC Systems
During a recent AC compressor overhaul, I purchased this 5µF capacitor as part of a proactive component refresh. I also installed a **dual-run capacitor** rated for both the compressor and fan circuits, anticipating the need for a separate fan capacitor alongside the new condenser fan motor. The 5µF unit arrived quickly, packaged securely with no terminal damage. The aluminum housing was solid, terminals spaced well, and the labeling was clear—ideal for quick identification during install prep. However, the fan motor I ended up installing had a **built-in capacitor**, which meant I didn’t need this standalone part. Instead, I wired the motor directly into the dual-run capacitor using the standard C, FAN, and HERM terminal layout. This worked flawlessly and simplified the system wiring. That’s the key takeaway for buyers: newer fan motors often include internal capacitors, so before sourcing a separate one, check your motor’s spec label or wiring diagram. If your system uses an older motor, this 5µF capacitor appears reliable and well-suited for run/start support. Even though it was returned unused, the build quality and delivery experience made a positive impression. If I were working on a legacy unit again—or troubleshooting a standalone fan circuit—this would be on my shortlist

Works great. Check the size of your current capacitor and how it's mounted
Heat wave came and turned our AC on for the first time this season and just getting hot air. Cleaned out the radiators and checked the lines and they were all hot. Was about to call the HVAC tech when a friend suggested I change out the capacitor. Listened to the AC kick on and could hear something trying to start a little bit after the fan started so it could very well be the capacitor that is preventing the compressor to turn on. Checked ratings of current capacitor, ordered that night and recieved it the next day around 8:30AM. When we went to replace, we found out the diamater was smaller than the current one. Took pictures of the connectors, replaced and modified the mount to hold the new one. Turned on the AC, heard the fan kick on, then heard the compressor kick on. Pipes were cool and cold air was blowing. Probably saved about 200 bucks from having HVAC diagnose and replace the part. We'll see how long this lasts but if we get a year out of it, that's well worth the price.
