Natural Wicks for Candle Making - 100 Foot SPOOLS (Extra LG Natural - 100 ft (ECO-14))

.................................I ordered a spool of this after exhaustive research and comparison, trying to figure out what the various terms mean and how wicks are made, etc. This is a 100 foot spool of wonderful, long burning wick that works very well in my 12 ounce candle jars. My goal was to make homemade emergency candles that will burn reliably for several hours each time they are needed.First I cut my wicks and tied a knot at the bottom of each, then dipped each one in warm wax (soy/beeswax blend) to stiffen them. Then I wound one end around bamboo sticks and balanced it across the top of each jar. Next, I poured a little wax--this is a messy process-- into each jar to "weight" the bottom of the wick. When that part had cooled down and begun to harden, I filled the jars to the top, being careful to keep the wicks centered over the top of the jars. After letting them sit overnight, I unwound the wicks and cut them to the same height as the jars themselves.Candle making videos abound on youtube.
