Yes but they run pretty true to size and if you wear a 16 or 18 they fit.

Q: I don't have heavy legs, but, my knees are swollen due to arthritis. are nydj really straight? i just returned jag's with a fairly tight straight leg.

They are fairly roomy at the knees. I do have chubby legs and swollen knees from a knee replacement and arthritis too and they fit me. Definitely not like a skinny Jean.
