Good gloves but not "Arctic"
I use them for woodcutting in colder weather. So far they've held up. They keep hands warm depending upon level of exertion, down to about 40 F or so, but I wouldn't want to rely on them in the Arctic, except in the summer. The puncture resistance is good when I pick up blackberry vines with a wood round. The elastic cuffs are better than the split style with hook-and-loop closure. These cuffs completely close around the wrist to better protect it. Also they fit better under jacket cuffs.

Robust gloves for cold weather
I've been picking up a bunch of Magid gloves lately and they all seem to be well made and pretty comfortable. These are no exception. While it's not the middle of winter here, I expect these will provide some much-needed protection from the elements while getting in to things in the middle of winter. They have great dexterity and a pretty good grip, although I'd say the lighter weight pair I have from Magid has a grippier palm and finger coating. The puncture and cut ratings exceed those of the lighter weight but grippier pair I have, but otherwise the overall construction looks and feels very similar. The reinforced thumb seam is again double stitched and there's good robust feeling material all around. These do not have the velcro closure around your wrists, but the elastic fits reasonably snugly. That said some caution is warranted, I think it'd be somewhat easy to wind up with snow in your gloves if you aren't careful. Without some form of elongated sleeve and cinch/velcro closure, these won't protect you as well as I imagine the Magic arctic work glove/mitts likely would. I look forward to trying those out as well when I get them.

Good protection, good fit
I like these better than the regular leather work gloves for work around non-jabby stuff. They've been tested by clearing and cutting some brush that included live branches and old dead branches. Also, by holding a bowl of chili right out of the microwave while I ate it. The gloves did well protecting my hands from scratch damage and the too hot to hold bowl. For messing with the brush, the gloves snugged up to the the wrist and kept things from collecting in the glove. The plastic stuff on top of the fingers is certainly protective, but might be a bit overdone. The stuff (bushes/tress with long sharp thorns) that got the backs of my fingers in the past also had me wearing welding gloves that covered my lower arms too. Thorns and stuff that are stopped by the finger armor can slip right through the non-armored areas and get you because the rest of the glove is that loose knit cut resistant fabric that I think is about as good as leather for stopping a cut and way worse than leather for stopping a stab. The grippy stuff on the palm did a great job holding that chili bowl. Much less slippery than leather.I think the finger armor is for impacts, not thorns. Like when you're starting a nail and miss. I did not test these gloves for impact protection and don't intend to test them on purpose.

Serious cold-weather work gloves
I picked these up along with another pair of Magid gloves--the latter almost like hybrid mittens. Those are likely to be incredibly warm--but if you need a traditional, five-finger winter work glove, these seems to be a great choice. They're warm, comfortable, offer great impact, puncture and cut protection, while still allowing relatively good dexterity. They're reinforced at the crotch of the thumb. They're comfortable to wear and allow excellent grip.

Great Protective Features, Nice Quality!
If T-Rex could wear gloves, these would be a great choice. The blue tread on the top portion is flexible and not too weighty, but acts like a protective barrier for cuts and normal stress that weighs on that part of the hand. The palm side is coated in a rubbery material that helps me grip when handing items, and offers protection as well. They’re comfortable to wear and the size is accurate for the way they fit. The cut rating give me extra reassurance for my general jobs when I don’t want to risk getting cut. Really nice quality, plus they look cool!
