Nutricost Magnesium Malate Powder (300g) - 420mg of Magnesium Per Serving - Non-GMO, Gluten Free

I have been using the full dosage of this (3cc scoop, 2g) for the past week, and I feel so much more like my normal self. I had been using it at a smaller dosage to make my own electrolite as others here have said, but no noticable effects. The first time I tried it, I mixed it in full strength just as a drink. As someone else noted, there was bathroom time. Of course just one time, so not completely sure it was due to this product. So, what's the difference now...? I mix it into my protein drink I have with a meal. No upset stomach, no taste issues, but big diffence in energy levels so far. No, not like a stimulant energy, although my coffee buzz has come back. Just more general get up and go. Muscle, joint pain pain...? I don't know yet... I still have achiness, but it could be that so far the edge is taken off and it's easier to ignore. Still not altogher sure it's not just a metabolic "up cycle" of sorts, and that I'll be back to my normal ball and chain feeling in a bit, or not...(?) But for now, trying to get stuff done, while the getting is good... :-)

I tried this product with a specific focus on energy boost without caffeine or other products that provide a jolt, then a crash. This provided me with an even, gentle feeling of increased energy (not a marathon-runner level) that supported a nice stroll around the community; my joints felt fine.

Debating/researching what brand to buy? I did the same for many,many days on supplements. Read below! I love that Nutricost tests all their products. You can literally contact them, with the LOT# on the bottle and they will send you test results. Why is that important? Many companies for one do not provide tests results if asked, you will usually get ignored or receive a generic response. It is also important because a lot of supplements can have heavy metals/contaminates in them and there is no warning of this. An example would be, almost all Ceylon Cinnamon across the world will have some type of contaimenants no matter what. I purchased some from Nutricost, contacted them about what tests have been done, they asked for the LOT# on the bottle and I received the test results the next day. The tests showed all levels of contaimenants were VERY low / in the range we're the body will not be effected. Many spices have contaimenants so keep that in mind! We tend to cook with them and have no idea. Make sure to look up Third Party Heavy Metal Spice test results, you will find a few lists of which brands are okay to buy. I use this as one of the Ingredients in my homemade Electrolyte Powder. My body tolerates this well and since I work out a lot, it helps with muscle recovery.

I have tried many forms and taken magnesium nightly for several years, used for knocking the edge off migraine pain. Read recently that Magnesium malate was good for body aches and it did take away my all over perimenopausal fibromyalgia body aches, I was seriously shocked how much it helped. I prefer powders over pills because you can adjust dosage easily and they generally don't have additives and fillers like capsules typically do. We took this in a shot of water nightly. The taste is not great (certainly nothing extreme) but my husband found it awful so I switched to a flavored mix for him- I would buy this again though. Also note malate can cause a GI response so we started at ¼ dose and built up to full dose over several weeks and everything was fine. And I'm not an expert but googled how much elemental magnesium is in 1000mg of magnesium malate and it stated approx 115mg, which means 4g would equal about 460mg elemental magnesium, pretty much double of what is listed for serving size.

I was recommended this by one of my doctors for a medical issue I have. I use a scoop that comes with it in my drink every morning to ensure I get the full amount. Usually this canister lasts approximately 4-6 months. So it's a good value as well. Very easy to mix into anything. Dissolves quickly. Because I live in a humid area, I do add an extra moisture packet to the plastic container, so far it hasn't caked and appears just as fresh from opening it to when I get the last scoop.

This is a product that is golden if you wake up with a leg cramp in the middle of the night. If you get them occasionally then you know how painful they can be. I take a slightly rounded teaspoon in a glass of water and pound it down. Can't say that it's tasty with water. It's slightly chalky but the flavor itself is close to neutral. I mix it into my protein smoothie and if I drink that then I usually don't get cramps. When I forget, that's when the cramps show up at night. Fun, fun, fun (not really). Anyway, it takes care of the cramp very quickly for me as I use it noted above. Your mileage may vary. Also noted that this does not bother my GI track in the least bit. Recommended.

Wow… maybe I have been severely deficient I magnesium and potassium for years… because I took one provided scoop of this supplement along with another brand of potassium mixed into my morning coffee for just a few days in a row and suddenly one morning I woke up BEFORE my alarm, energetic, enthusiastic, and in a fabulous mood. That has not happened in DECADES for me. Regular electrolyte drinks didn’t help much and had too much sugar. I guess they just had micro doses of what I needed, and not near enough. It has stayed that way for multiple days in a row now. If the high goes away, I will update this review. But this had miraculous levels of effect on me. Less muscle soreness and cramping, more energy, and I am very grateful for this HUGE life change.

I am very happy with the purchase! I had many brands from here where only one was strong enough to feel the effect, it was German brand that discontinued product and since then all brands useless until i got this powder. So in control of whats inside, how much to take.
